I was there two days and really enjoyed my day-long tour! We rode through a dry forest to several pyramids, tried local beers and got to see some skeletons being unearthed at a live archaeological dig site. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I did sleep at Rancho Santana hotel, add we did tours at the facilities there and... More

We turned up to Rancho Santana last minute as we had a spare day in our travels. It was the best choice we made! We felt so welcome and our own little mud brick room was so rustic it was excellent! Everything you really need with a hot shower, bed and hammocks out the front to chill out on! We... More

I really enjoyed my day-long tour! We rode through a dry forest to several pyramids, tried chicha beer, and got to see some skeletons being unearthed at a live archaeological dig site. The guide/owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. I didn't sleep at Rancho Santana, but I did tour the facilities there and the lodging is nice and clean. Highly... More

There is a nice rustic bungalow (made of Adobe bricks) for rent (35 Soles per night). There is a hot shower, a huge room and a garden with hammocks to relax and watch the birds and other animals which are around. It is possible to use the kitchen and laundry for free, they also offer meals! Breakfast is included in... More

A beautiful place in the countryside, where you can watch birds, relax and do horseriding on comfortable Peruvian Pasohorses visiting the piramds of Moche and Sican-Culture (Lambayeque-Culture) We stayed 3 nights at this friendly place in the nice rustic bungalow, made with adobe-bricks like the Moche Culture did construct their houses long time ago. There are hammocks to relax in... More

One of the highlights of our trip to northern Peru was at Rancho Santana, where you get to ride real Caballos de Paso. The owner, Andrea, couldn't have been nicer or more helpfull. For only 45 soles, we had a 4+ hour ride through virgin forests and climbed on several Moche pyramids in Batan Grande and actually got to see... More

Too many people who visit Peru pass over the pyramid ruins of Batan Grande that are part of the Sanctuario Historico Bosque de Pomac, near Chiclayo. We didn't really know what to expect when we went there on a recommendation of someone from Tripadvisor. And it was fantastic. The best way to visit it is to go horse riding for... More
