Peter and Helen are lovely people. Not only that but their wealth of experience, competence and professionalism is beautifully balanced by their friendly, down-to-earth and welcoming approach to visitors. I took a small wine club from Norway (Vinskvetten from just outside Oslo) to visit and it was the high-light of their stay with us in Javea. Not only did they... More

My husband I visited Peter in June 2011. I am in my mid 20's and my husband is 30. Neither of us are wine experts, and we don't actually choose to drink wine when at home either. My husband prefers beer/lagers and I prefer spirits with fruity mixers! But none the less I thought visiting la bodega would give us... More

Personally I found this visit very informative and interesting. As part of the same group visiting as the previous reviewer, I am surprised at their comments and can only assume that it was a bad day for them as an individual! We had arranged to go as a group of a Garden Society and knew in advance the costs involved.... More

Having been trading wine for some years and attended may tastings FOC I find it incongruous to have to pay someone to sell me their products which to all intents and purposes is what happened here. Whilst it could be argued that the cost was to pay for tapas, the amount we paid equated in no way to the few... More

We are very sorry to read of this customers’ unhappiness after visiting our wine bodega! We try very hard to please all our guests. We are a small, family business and we take pride in offering quality service with personal attention and good wines. If guests just visit the cellar purely to taste and buy our wine, then obviously we... More

Went with family in August. A beautiful little Bodega in the fantastic Jalon Valley. Hosted by Peter Arnold and his wife, Helen, we tasted what must be the finest wines in the area. We had lovely tapas and the hosts were perfect. If you are in the area, you have GOT TO VISIT HERE! I have fallen in love with... More

If you’ve ever visited any of the Costa Blanca resorts north of Alicante; Altea, Calpe Moraira, Javea, & Denia, you are likely to have heard of the Jalon valley, a peaceful oasis of fertile farmland, orchards & vineyards about 20 minutes inland from the sea. What you may not have discovered however are the pretty villages of Murla, Alcalali &... More

What can we say, we visited Peter, Helen & the family at their wonderful place 'La Bodega del Garroferal' which is located in the village of Murla within the Jalon Valley (province of Alicante) Spain in September 2011. We were greeted with a warm welcome (despite Peter having worked flat out all day processing his grapes!) What a thoroughly enjoyable... More

So there we were ... the three of us driving from Sevilla all the way to Barcelona with a thirst for the Gift of the Gods when my wife, one of her girlfriends and I found this amazing little winery ran by the most hospitable and welcoming family. We met Peter & felt straight at home! What a lovely man who has such a passion for his business. The wines we tasted were all excellent & such good value considering the exceptional quality. We will definitely be going back to stock up! More
