great beach

Warm waters, dogs and kids playing, fun surf. You can spend a 4 days week end and feel as if you went to the south.

Twenty years ago, I frequently swam at Lawrencetown Beach. It was very sandy and despite the cold water, many people enjoyed swimming there. Now much of the sand is gone, leaving a lot of rocks both above and below the waterline. We tried boogieboarding, but the waves thrashed us into the rocky shoreline. We quickly packed up and drove 30min.... More

What a find....whether you are there to watch the surfers maneuver around the waves or the children playing in the sand, this beach is a wonderful place to spend the day or even an afternoon.

Very scenic but is prone to being fogged in and the water is quite rough due to its location. Looked to be mostly surfers who populated this beach. Not really for the sunbathing or casual swimming crowd.

cars were broken into and items stolen, as well as credit cards Sat Aug 18th in the afternoon. Keep your valuables away from this area, the wave of criminal activity is alive and active.

Surfing hot spot when the waves are up. However, the sand is not always here. It is taken and removed by the surf according to weather leading up to any given day. Definitely worth stopping by, but you should bring water shoes and anchors for your stuff due to high winds. Don't be disappointed by the lack of sand.

I really enjoy Lawrencetown Beach because I love the waves. Yes, the water is a bit cold compared to the Northumberland Straight, but once you're in, you're fine. You have so much fun in the waves you forget about the water temperature. Do be careful though- waves can be dangerous! The MacDonald House up on the hill is not a... More

While the water is often a little cold this beach is beautiful and worth the drive. The waves are spendid, the beach is a beautiful sandy walk, easy parking, change house available...and cold or not get in!

Tis is a beautiful beach. It has facilities and a life guard station. It's a good place for surfers, but not for swimming. There are rocks and sand so choose the right side of the facilities for more sand. We found it very windy and cool - great for a hot day!

A popular surfing break in the Halifax Area. The place has change rooms and washrooms, a decent sandy beach and a remote location.
