The 2 plays were very entertaining and the audience very interested and also very interesting to people watch. I love the Orange Tree and have taken my son their since he was little. We all love it as the productions are always a little different and sitting on the stage is always fun. Love the bar too. Long live the... More

The Orange Tree theatre started out many years ago in a room above th Orange tree Pub across the road. The purpose built theatre in the round was the result of a collaboration with the local Council who made its construction part of the deal to build the next door office block. Sam Walters, the original director, is just about... More

A great little experimental theatre with shows at very reasonable prices. Perhaps not the most comfortable seating but if you are absorbed you don't notice that.

A great little theatre. Have been here many times most recently to see Middlemarch. Ground level or balcony seats are equally good. Some good restaurants a stone's throw away.

We saw a production of 'Middlemarch' which was excellent and we absolutely loved the venue. It's amazing that such a professional production can be put on so successfully at this delightful and intimate theatre. Wonderful and we will be back.

We love the Orange Tree. Close-up theatre in the round - always brilliantly acted. Makes for such an intimate experience. The only downside is that it's unreserved seating and people just seem to be getting there earlier and earlier to grab their favourite seat!

Sometimes I really enjoy the play, sometimes less so, but in all the more than 15 years that I've been going to the Orange Tree, I've never seen anything other than a first-class performance. Expert direction and highly professional acting and the intimate theatre-in-the-round arrangement contribute to a highly enjoyable and memorable evening that is great value too. The upstairs... More

I love the Orange Tree as wherever you sit you are so close to the action meaning that you are able to pick up the subtleties and intensity if the performance.

My first visit to this little theatre with a big reputation was a revelation. I saw two parts of their brilliant adaptation of "Middlemarch" - wonderful acting and direction. But the theatre itself was the real star. It has just two banks of seats around a square. You're so close to the actors! This is the most incredibly intimate and... More

Lucky me to have been gifted a ticket to see last play of day. As if we were guests in the gallery of a small country dwelling, entered into another age of intricacies of family dynamic-the memorising ability of the actors was phenomenal.
