Went to see the salmon jumping but no salmon appeared - wrong time of year I think! Good place to just come and have a look - but it won't take you more than 10-15 mins to do. Ample parking normally. Not great on a rainy day and make sure you get time of year right so you actually are... More

The Falls of Feugh is accessible via road or for a change of pace, the Deeside Way converted railway line. This makes it worth a short trip by car, bike or even horse! The Falls themselves are pretty magnificent, especially after a day of rain. If you'd like a shot at watching salmon leaping, September to November or February to... More

We had lunch here, the river and views are excellent and to die for, but the topping on the cake is the restaurant it's lovely inside with excellent views and the food is outstanding it would grace anywhere in the world and it's a reasonable price. We went here on our last day just wish we have found it sooner

The 'Falls of Feugh', on the River Dee, near Banchory, Scotland, are a series of water cascades, easily viewed from the footbridge which passes over them. We visited in August, but I reckon visiting a lot earlier in the year, when the river is swollen by rainfall and snowmelt from the surrounding hills, would be a better time to see... More

We were there early November and were excited that it might be the season to watch salmon leaping upstream. Unfortunately we couldn't spot any but still had fun taking photos in the area.

A lovely stop off on the way to somewhere more substantial. They have removed the padlocks so you can now enjoy the wonderful view properly.

Superb waterfall especially when we saw it in full spate just a day after very heavy rainfall. Don't miss the nearby cafe/tea rooms either - their cakes are homemade and to die for!

Lovely day out to see falls with all family, walk steep in places but not unmanageable. Great for dog walking. A must if you are in the area.

No such luck spotting salmon that we hoped to see but nevertheless worth the short stop to imagine what those poor fish endure during their final days. Amazing how nature pairs them up and takes them back to within six feet of where they were hatched in 5 year cycles. Free town toilets are nearby.
