I had high expectations when booking this after visiting culloden 2 years ago! There is not much to do or see and seems more focused on a interactive game! Prices not family friendly unless you have a nts membership!

Having read some of the comments and reviews, I cannot understand what some people want and expect. This is an outstanding modern visitor centre which educates, interprets and entertains - as a 63 year old former teacher I got a lot from this personally and I know that the young people that I worked with would have done so to... Having attended the Bannockburn Live event in June, we were keen to visit the new visitor centre and Battle Game. Let's start by saying we are fifty-somethings with no attendant children or grandchildren on this occasion. We enjoyed the build up to the battle, although not huge fans of the 3D experience! The game was fun and the young ones... More

Interactive items did not work. Watching the 'game' unfold was like having a tooth pulled (just tell us what we believe happened during the Battle of Bannockburn for goodness sake!).

When we arrived we seen the prices to enter the small museum (over £11 for an adult) and decided to skip this and walk directly to the monument which is behind. The monument itself is very nice and it's easy to imagine all the troops lined up against one another stretching across the vast fields surrounding the monument. Shame the museum... More

We had not visited the old centre, but on a rainy day in July our first visit did not disappoint and we opted for the battle game. Whilst a bit slow was entertaining and the guy who managed the event was really good and made sure we both had fun and were educated. Would go back to experience the other... More

We stopped here on our way to Stirling Castle and were outraged by the entry fee. It is National Trust so we shouldn't have been surprised, but it was enough to put us off paying to see the exhibition or enter the "battle room" to re-enact a battle. However we were able to walk around to the Bannockburn/Robert the Bruce... More

this isn´t even on the site of the battlefield and I visited with four foreign guests and a child. on deciding if we should pay for the visitors centre or not (it is expensive) the guide was heard to say that the battlefield was in the opposite direction from where you might assume it is (the big field behind the... What a creative venture, but, alas, a bit disappointing to drive a distance expecting even more than the fine experience offered by the old Bannockburn Centre. I much prefer the comfort and information in being able to sit and watch an explanatory film that gives the historical context and aftermath. The new exhibit has lots of cool, kid-friendly computer gimmicks... More

We joined a very confused queue of prospective visitors. We waited 20 minutes while NTS staff briefed gamers, sold merchandise, recruited new members, sold tickets, answered queries etc, to find out what was on offer. We didn't really find out. Except that the show was fully booked, and to come back in 20 minutes for the game which would begin... More
