I've seldom felt so disappointed in a historical site. Bannockburn is, at least for this American visitor, a historical landmark of epic stature that I had hoped would move and touch me profoundly. Unfortunately, I came away feeling oddly empty. The short videos telling the history behind the battle were silly: surely all that expense could go for for depictions... More

The game at the end was really interesting however there was too much going on in the one room and so you could hear all the displays at the same time. The motion activated, interactive displays were good in theory but didn't work well.

This was my third visit to the 'new improved Bannockburn Vistor Centre. It is still lacking in many ways. Yes, the 3D effects are interesting but the cardboard puppet theatre at the beginning and end is a joke and has many visitors giggling. The day we visited the Battle Game computer had broken so we had to have the battle... More

We are not kids, and not really into whizz bang technology. We had no wish to be "immersed" and we were told that was all there was: no alternative offered to those who like a more traditional presentation, such as at Culloden. So we decided to save our 22 pounds, and simply walk around the grounds. I don't know how... More

My partner and I visited the bannockburn heritage centre today and got a pleasant surprise. Although the 3d battle display wasn't working the guide Amy told us all about the battle and the history of it all. We really enjoyed the 3d projections of the archers and battle scenes. Our favourite part was the weapons and armour exhibit. It was... More

The three in our party that chose to go to the museum were all disappointed, but mostly confused. The initial presentation of the battle as shown in about 10-minutes was interesting. Everything else was confusing. A very helpful staff person "rescued" us about three times to move us in the correct direction for the next exhibit. We felt that the... More

A "must" stopover for lovers of history and the modern presentations are superb. 3D graphics and storytelling used to perfection with personal engagement with the battle just magic.

At last: an attempt to establish a 'proper' visitor centre at this most important site. Although a vast improvement on what was there before, it's still early days and with time and by listening to visitor feedback, it should evolve into the awe-inspiring, fascinating attraction it deserves to be. There seemed to be a multitude of staff- all very friendly... More

3D graphics are impressive and the "Characters" who tell their own individual stories are interesting. The introductory and end "playlets" were extremely factual and complicated and despite watching a couple of times I found them difficult to digest. The explanation of the battle was good and easier to follow. I was only a spectator for the battle game, but hadn't... More
