We visited the Bannockburn centre in its old form a few years ago. We liked it then even though the venue was a little tired. We visited it again today four years later. What a transformation. The building may look like a barn from the outside, but inside it is full of the latest 3d immersive tech. It really is... More

Thank you for your feedback. The old Heritage Centre was very tired and has been replaced by an award winning building. You are correct regarding the barn style appearance. The building has taken inspiration from a Scottish byre or farmstyle dwelling. Thank you for sharing your experience. We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your visit. We hope... More

What an excellent visit my friend and I had at the Bannockburn visitor centre yesterday!! The staff really made the visit for us because we were so well looked after. A special mention must go to Ned who walked us through the battle game and explained more about the history. We were thoroughly impressed with Ned and he went beyond... More

Visited with our grandson who was very impressed with the 3D display and was then selected by the Battlemaster to be Robert the Bruce for the interactive battle. Very high tech, George is a keen battle gamer on line and he loved it. After the finish of the game the battlemaster shows what actually happened compared to our re-enactment. You... More

What a great review. We are delighted your grandson had a brilliant time. When you return your grandson will have to be selected as King Edward II so he can experience both sides. Thanks again More

On the way to visit Stirling Castle, we stopped off at Bannockburn at the approximate site of the battle in 1314. The site today is a landscaped area with a memorial and statue of Robert the Bruce. The area is easy to access by road and there is a large car park. There is a visitor centre on site too... More

What a lovely review. Thank you for your comments. We do recommend that the exhibition is for age 7 plus. However, many families do bring children younger and have enjoyed the visit. We hope to see you again sometime in the future best regards More

I took my young family (8) and (9) to this as the older child was studying the Battle of Bannockburn at school. The 3D panoramic battle scenes were excellent and gave a clear impression of who would have been present and what they would have been doing. It also clearly evoked the atmosphere of the battle scene as you literally... More

Thank you for your review and praise for the style of our interpretation. One of the main reasons for the 3D interpretation was due to the lack of archaeological evidence from the Battle of Bannockburn. Even the recent 4 finds from the 3500 uncovered would not have been enough to help us tell more of the history. The interpretation team... More

As a local person interested and proud of the history, I was really disappointed by our visit to the battle of bannockburn visitor centre. I have not been for years, and certainly not since the re-vamp of the centre a couple of years ago. The whole visit centres around the 3D fantasy battle game and the exhibition is sorely lacking... Thank you for visiting. As a local we are sorry that you were disappointed by the new centre. The exhibition concentrates on 48 hours of the battle with a short history of both kings journey to the battle. As you will be aware the Scottish Wars of Independence has a very long history. The staff within the exhibition do provide... More

I needed an open space to check my tyres while on a journey to Stirling and as it was a cold and wet day in between Christmas and New Year the empty car park of the Bannockburn Centre beckoned. after the hype surrounding the 700th anniversary I decided to wait until the buzz died down. The welcome from the woman... More

I really wanted to like this, having fond memories of the (very!) old visitor centre and the publicity surrounding the NTS revamp of this important site. Sadly, I was genuinely very disappointed by the whole visitor experience. The building - a poor Culloden look-alike? - is dominated by the very obvious shop, cafe and 'SALE' stickers on the shop window.... More

We are sorry to read that you have been let down on your recent visit to the Battle of Bannockburn. With regards to the Sale signs. As a charity who undertakes care of the park and the centre we must ensure we gain as much income as possible to support our running costs. We are sorry if you were offended... More

A great morning from the welcome right to the end. The 3D display was very good and the battle was great. Well worth the visit on a cold December morning.

We visited the visitor centre recently and really enjoyed it. The 3D animated history videos were well done - a bit of humor and great information. The highlight was definitely the battle simulation! Unfortunately I lost, but it was lots of fun. =) The battle master was friendly and his knowledge of the battle was very impressive!! We did walk... More
