The Bannockburn Visitor Centre was a modern, well planned and interactive attraction. The use of computer graphics, games, tactile exhibits and outdoor monuments meant that we were able to immerse ourselves in the history of the area. The staff were friendly, polite and spent a lot of one-on-one time with us informing us not only on the battle but on... More

We went to this because it was St Andrew's Day and the Stirling Castle was going to be really busy. We are so glad we did. This really brought the history of Bannockburn alive. Very well done and well worth participating in the battle game.

I carry the shame of having lost the Battle of Bannockburn for King Robert the Bruce, and Scotland, thankfully only in the form of a computer simulation of the battle. However, despite this, this simulation game was the highlight, allowing us to play the part of Robert the Bruce on a projected battlefield display. Having been to the old exhibition... More

This attraction, near Stirling, gives a good insight into the Battle of Bannockburn, and is thus quite educational in nature. I visited with two 11 year olds and they both enjoyed the experience, particularly the interactive battle. There was also a 3D interpretation, with 3D glasses provided. One word of warning, you have to pre-book your 'battle' slot. Apart from... More

Having read the NTS website re booking a time slot and taking part in a game was almost put off as we are not into computer games . Went on a wet day 26 Nov 2014 and only a handful of people there. No problem with a time slot but obviously a problem during school holidays or summer period. We... More

There is a big field for kids to run around. Inside the museum you can learn about the armour soldiers wore and kids enjoyed trying on costumes. There is a computer game were the Scots and English have a virtual battle and the kids really enjoyed that. There is an admission fee.

The visitors centre is really nice and if you are into history you have to visit this. Even if you are not into history it is nice to see the spot were Robert the Bruce won over the English.

First visit to the Battle of Bannockburn visitor centre since the new exhibition was set up and certainly not disappointed. Well laid out parking area, friendly welcome at the centre, clean toilets and time for a much needed cup of tea and tasty scone were a great first impression of the centre. Totally loved the improvements which have been made... More

The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre (BBVC) is a triumph only for the salesperson that sold the technology to the National Trust for Scotland. It is a shameful waste of public money and your admission fee. It is also an instrument for the insidious propagation of racial hatred. The BBVC was attended with no preconception. Of that, it is absolutely... More
