Visited this house after finding it by chance. The story behind it is very interesting. Take a guided tour and it feels like you have gone back in time. The staff bring the house to life and are very knowledgeable. Highly recommend a visit. The entry prices are cheap as well.

A lovely manor house with the thrill of ghost hunting, we didn't do a guided tour as we prefer to roam in our own time. Lovely tea rooms, am looking forward to doing a paranormal evening in the future

While staying in Ilfracombe this summer we visited the castle, great day out, well worth the money, the children loved it, lots to see and do. Not great for pushchairs.

Fuchsia cottage Very clean, good size for a family with young children (5 and 7 years). Staff extremely friendly and full of local knowledge. Grounds are lovely. Yet to taste the scones as arrive home too late! Peaceful and tranquil place to stay. Do bear in mind lots if steap hills, would recommend bikes but drive to desired location.

By chance we found a leaflet about the Manor whilst on our holiday. Being the tired owner of two teenagers, we thought a trip to a haunted Manor house might appeal - it did appeal and it did not disappoint! The staff were very friendly and affable. They all were extremely knowledgeable about the history of the place. We loved... More

Visted the manor when on holiday last year and had to come back this year. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and all know a lot about the history of the manor. While there my sister took a picture which had a moving orb on which a member of staff said was brilliant a lot of our photos had... More

We have visited this house many times over the years and have never had a bad few hours here. Lovely gardens and walks along the river too. The cafe is nice with both inside and outside seating. The staff are all friendly and informative. A morning visit followed by a light lunch and a lovely walk afterwards makes a good... More

An interesting house. The gardens are well worth a visit to see the range of plants especially the variety of colours of the hydrangeas.
