Had the most detailed and interesting tour in this beautiful house. The guide was brilliantly informative and clearly passionate about the house. It was fabulous to step back in time, learn the history of the house and its previous occupants (some still appear apparently) and learn about the antique furniture. The cafe adjacent to the house sells the best cream... More

We have been here twice now, once with another family. This place is very interesting, and the people who run it gave us an excellent tour. One of the girls with us complained about something touching her ankles, and it may have been the ghost of a small child. We enjoyed this visit very much, and they made us an... More

Visited Chambercombe Manor today for the first time and what a fantastic day we had. The staff there were so friendly and informative and the Manor house though small, was beautiful. We decided to have a spot of lunch after our walk round and found the food fresh, well cooked and reasonably priced. A little hard to find, but well... More

This was very interesting although we only got to see one room as it was closing. A very nice man allowed us in and told us some of the history. Gardens were pleasant

If you believe in ghosts or not , the house itself is fascinating and the guide was excellent both in terms of his knowledge and building atmosphere regarding things that go bump in the night. Without doubt the place is packed with history and events, absolutely fascinating. At £9 per adult it's at the upper end of pricing but really... More

I spent a fascinating afternoon at Chambercombe with my husband. I am interested in the paranormal but a bit of a scaredy cat at heart! I had heard of the Manor but didn't realise there were so many stories of paranormal activity. We had not intended to visit as we came across the Manor while walking around Hele and the... More

We recommend you take the Guided Tour, it was very well presented and you would miss so much if you did not take up this option. The Manor is steeped in history and set in a valley with gardens to walk around and see the shrubs and flowers on meandering pathways. Taking you to ponds and a stream. The Manor... More
