Fascinating attraction, you can see the mining works in the tunnels and how they cleverly use the natural bay to create the large pool. Biggest rock pool you'll ever see. Best time to visit is, once when the tide is out and then when the tide is high. We were privileged to see the resident conger eel that lives in... More

Why did the Victorians love Ilfracombe so much when it doesn't have a nice sandy beach? Answer - this weird little complex of sea-water bathing pools, hacked out of the rock with tea-spoons in days of yore. The succession of rocky little coves are beautiful and the displays showing articles from old newspapers describing thrilling rescues and daredevil feats are... More

Beautiful place, gorgeous food, highly recommended. No sand just a pebbly beach but if you visit on a nice day you could almost be abroad. Indoor play area too so if you pay to go onto the beach first then you can get into the play area for £1.

A wonderful place with a real sense of history. Quite magical when you walk through the tunnels and come out into the beach areas. Great information to read and quirky stories from Victorian times. Definitely worth a trip. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because there was a wedding on when we went and half of the... More

I visited the tunnels beaches in Ilfracombe in August-14 with my wife and two children (4 & 7). We had a terrific family day out at this hidden treasure that offered all the best of a day at the beach in the UK. Well worth a visit - pack your swimmers! There were plenty of parking options in the area... More

Tunnels Beaches wedding venue has an overwhelming air of magic. As soon as you come out the end of the tunnel and see the view, you can feel it. Our wedding was beyond perfect, it was phenomenal. The weather had been forecast to be cloudy, however, the sun beamed all day and there was not a cloud in the sky.... More
