6 of us did the 64 mile walk (with a couple of miles added for a detour to Loch Charles). As we hadn't done this type of thing before, split the first leg and did over 6 days. What a treat, we all loved it! We scored for some beautiful weather (sunburn) and the scenery is fantastic. Like others say,... More

I have now walked most of the Cateran Trail by doing the Cateran Yomp which takes place each June, which is a 54 mile challenge over 24 hours in beautiful and rural Perth and Kinross and Angus, and not only is a great place to walk, the people are the friendliest you'll ever meet!

a fantastic 64 mile walk through stunning perthshire scenery. the walk is very well sign posted and the cateran trail app is very informative and was great to link the icon to bits of history from days gone by.

Extremely well waymarked, interesting for both farm and wild animals. I stayed at the "Old Stables" in Aylth and Bob Ellis (Tel 01250873899) transported me to the "joining points", Bob has an incredible amount of knowledge - being a founder member of the start of the actual trail, he knows everything and more about this walk and was a tremendous... Came across Blairgowrie guite by accident as a one night stop over. Walked to the town centre and found that the river had several walks very well signposted and so decided to walk along one of them. Thought that it would be a good place to bring the motorhome for a longer stay. When we rounded the next corner we... More

Fantastic trail through the Perthshire countryside . The Cataran yomp bring an element of competition to the trail. But we enjoy it as and when at our own pace.

Cateran Trail, which is a circular route, provides a great diversity of experiences. It passes through small towns & villages but also goes far in the wild, allowing to fully enjoy nearby wildlife. Trip worth doing!

Nice walk along the south side of the river before short incline onto the Cateran Trail . ...muddy to be expected with lots of rain recently but nice countryside views .
