Catalan trail

Fantastic trail through the Perthshire countryside . The Cataran yomp bring an element of competition to the trail. But we enjoy it as and when at our own pace.

Cateran Trail, which is a circular route, provides a great diversity of experiences. It passes through small towns & villages but also goes far in the wild, allowing to fully enjoy nearby wildlife. Trip worth doing!

Nice walk along the south side of the river before short incline onto the Cateran Trail . ...muddy to be expected with lots of rain recently but nice countryside views .

With 55 miles to walk you can enjoy a great 3 days of walking with enjoyable overnight stays or just walk a short section with varied scenery, wildlife. Its all great!

We have only walked a small part of the Cateran (started off with a coffee and scone at Cargill's bistro by the riverside, we like to indulge ourselves) it was certainly enough to whet our appetite for more. Lovely scenery, wildlife and peace and quiet. We aim to do a lot more in the spring.

My friends and I walked this trail in “one go” this summer supported by our wives and had an amazing experience. With stopovers at Kirkmichael, Spittal of Glenshee and Glenisla we covered a 55 mile route starting and finishing on the Brig of Blair. It was a series effort that saw us walk through the night completing the walk in... More
