Milntown is set in over fifteen acres of beautiful gardens in the North of the Isle of Man, near Ramsey and is one of the Island’s most historic houses. Originally the home of one of the leading families on the Isle of Man -the ‘Christians’ - Milntown has also been a school for young ladies and a hotel. More recently it once again reverted to being a private house owned by Lady Edwards and subsequently her son Sir Clive. Upon his death, in 1999, a Trust was created to maintain the house and gardens for the benefit of the Manx people, in line with the wishes of Sir Clive. Milntown House is open for tours each Wednesday and Saturday from April - September. Garden Tours are held monthly, please visit our website for further information regarding tours and other events held at MilntownMilntown also has a restaurant that can cater for up to sixty private diners or an elite fine dining experience for up to 14 guests in the old Milntown dining room. Larger numbers can also be catered for with a bespoke marquee in the stunning garden.

When we visited late morning on a Saturday virtually all tables were reserved for lunches that looked very appetizing. We only had time for drinks which were served by very pleasant and smiling staff. Would love to return in about a month when the spring flowering bushes are aT THEIR BEST

Our waitress " Katie" was excellent in every way.She didnt hesitate after we said that one of the meals was far too hot and she changed the meal to another one without hesitation. The service we had was excellent ! I hope as the season is in full swing that they have a bigger choice on the menu.

Thank you for your lovely comments and taking the time to review Milntown on Trip Advisor. We will also pass on your comments to Katie. As the season progresses we certainly plan to extend our menu and will always have season dishes often made with produce grown here on the Estate. We do hope to welcome you back soon. Regards... We do hope to welcome you to Milntown this year. I am afraid that currently dogs are not permitted on the Estate unless they are guide dogs. We do hope that this will not prevent you from visiting our lovely Estate. Best wishes Vicky Crellin More

Good food in the lovely setting of a beautiful garden. The restaurant has views onto the garden and some of the vegetables come from the garden. Unique on the Isle of Man. Well worth a visit.

2 lunch visits and both same excellent standards. Good choice, very nice staff, super food, very nice atmosphere, Only quibble was ridiculous price of £4 for what seemed like less than half a pint of beer - ruins the occasion that sort of pricing.

Thank you for taking the time to rate Milntown on trip advisor. We are delighted that you enjoyed your overall visit. Regarding the beer, the only beer that we serve that is £4 is the bottled IPA which is 500ml so nearly a pint, if you were served a different, smaller beer and charged the same price we are extremely... The scones and tea-cakes tasted home-made and were delicious - the herbal tea and coffee hot and welcoming after a long walk on a sunny but chilly winter's day. The restrooms were bright and clean. This is not a "chi-chi" squashy sofa kind of place - nor is it a student type of "I will sit here for hours with... More

We decided to have sunday lunch as the menu sounded lovely. However, when our meal came I was surprised at how little we got on our plate . Two slices of meat and mostly vegetables served on a fairly small plate. Although it was delicious it was definately not substantial enough.

It's so nice to just sit outside in the warm weather!!! I have to say it was amazing! The food was lovely and there's even a few children's meals to! I recommend trying to book a table, that was the only trouble we had. But it was still amazing!

We visited Milntown on one of our regular holidays on the island and really enjoyed our visit.Plenty of interesting plants and trees to look at in a very peaceful atmosphere. We then stopped for coffee and cake in the restaurant and it was very fresh and much cheaper than many other places on the island. The house was closed to... More
