I may be thought to be judging Summerhill Glen unfairly because I simply can't help comparing it to the Summerhill Glen of my childhood, and it doesn't come anywhere near! On it's own, it's a beautiful little glen ending in an elevated battery overlooking Douglas bay. However, the attraction for many is the illuminated displays that come on as it... More

A few days ago me and my family went to the summer hill glen in Douglas at night and it was beautiful. I loved all the lights and the pictures made out of lights and also the animation movie that was there as well. I suggest that it would be better for a couple or a family walk but your... More

A highlight of our first trip to the Isle of Man was visiting the lovely Glen. We went on a beautiful sunny afternoon and decided to go back at night. First we walked through to watch some bike racing at the top which finished just as darkness fell. The lights came on and made a wonderful display..Blackpool eat your heart... More

A daytime place to chill and read, just to get away. And in the evening, the lighting is a nice little attraction and distraction. Having seen larger elsewhere on my travels, this was kinda nice being in miniature.

Our hotel was at the north end of town & our walk up Summerhill Glen was great fun. It is lit up at this time of year but although not lit when we went, too early in the day we had great fun spotting all the figures that would be lit. It is an easy paved walk & very attractive.

During a recent visit to the Island for the TT we used this Glen to walk down from the Grandstand to the seafront. I would love to see this Glen at night when the lighting is switched on. We loved looking for all the little fairy doorways in the tree trunks.

For those who don't believe in fairies, this is the place to come, since many of them live here, and you can easily find their small homes. But, finding the fairies themselves, requires patience and a lot of faith. The glen is tranquil and beautiful; a few steps to deal with to get in, but well worth taking time out... More

Nice glen with illuminations to take a stroll through at night...make sure its gone a bit dark though. Path can be a bit slippery after rain. Kids will like it.
