Just to make it clear, this attraction should really be listed under its proper name - the Isle of Man Steam Railway - as there are other (albeit smaller) steam railways on the Island. I wrote a review under the heading of the "Isle of Man Steam Railway" but it's still shown as 'Pending', several weeks after I submitted it.... More

It was like going back in time. The stream whistle, the chugging of the engine, the vibration of the trip, just everthing. It is the way to travel

The little steam train in the Isle Of Man is a step back in time, reminds me of days gone by when I was a child, stopping at an aray of pretty little stations on you way through the lovely countryside of this quaint Island. We went from Port Erin to Douglass and really enjoyed the ride with each station... More

Amazing trip, well worth a visit. Very comfortable little carriages and beautiful scenery along the way. An hour journey that seemed like only five minutes.

(that was for you Dinosaur Train fans...) My son and I took a trip on this amazing beast one drizzly, grey Sunday morning. It's positively magical. I don't know much about trains, but I do know whenever I'm in Disneyland I simply MUST ride the Disneyland railroad. Well this was 100 times better. Its absolutely REAL. The coal, the steam,... More

If you buy a saver ticket, this trip is included and is well worth it! It is like stepping back in time. All the staff are very friendly but be aware that there are no toilets on board the train so if you are travelling with children make sure you pay a visit before boarding.

A must for any rail enthusiast, and converts the skeptic, like myself, into a rail buff for the day. Going through the countryside to the south of the island, all the way through Castletown to Port Erin and Port St.Mary. And with the travel pass you can jump on and off to explore as much as you like. There's a... More

The steam train was a fun experience and quite useful as it services some of the best Manx history locations.
