Do not visit the isle of man without visiting and taking a ride on the iom steam railway from Douglas to Port Erin. ORIGINAL LOCOS and rolling stock great scenery and villages to call at. Only down side is a lack of railway atmosphere at Douglas and staff who can never answer a question

Travel through unspoiled countryside and end up on beautiful sandy beaches or on top of scenic mountains. The service is generally very punctual.

During a recent four day visit to the Isle of Man, we used all the various transport modes in making our way around the island. The Steam Railway was available for trips to the south - to Castletown, Port St Mary and Port Erin, as were regular buses, while the Manx Electric Railway was available for trips to the north,... Public transport is reliable, punctual, frequent and Go Explore ticket is good value. You can even visit the summit of Snaefell for good views.
