I have been to the Chine many times. It's a lovely place for couples, families or just a peaceful moment to yourself. The Chine is basically a lot like a gorge that has been eroded by water over thousands of years and particularly since the last ice age. The sound of the water at the long drop waterfall is deafening... More

I am probably wrong by posting this since we never went in, but have to tell that it is so hard to find! A parking in town suggest that it is close, but it is Not! Best way to get here us to park by the seaside and at the end of the beach it is a road going up... More

Locked from all angles. Was upset as it sounded amazing from behind the fence - huge rainfall so would have been dramatic!

This is a beautiful little nook with a trickling waterfall, ferns and other gorgeous plants line the walk. It is expensive to get access - about 6 pounds I think - and it is very small. If you have seen proper rainforest you would probably feel ripped off.

We've been before and it is lovely but our enjoyment has been spoiled twice in the last 2 years by the strict adherence to closing time and the fact the we have inadvertently arrived 2 mins too late to be admitted through our fault not theirs!. All the same our rejection was not handled in a very sympathetic manner which... More

Got to the chine at 4.15pm and as it shuts at 5pm we weren't allowed in. Thought this was a little unfair as the sign stated last admission 30 mins before closing. Also thought the lady on admissions could have given us a little discount if she let us through due to only having 45 mins to explore.

As the title suggests, it was raining when we decided to visit. This meant we spent more time looking at the pictures and artefacts from days gone by and although they are stored in a rather crammed in and disorganised way, some of the older Victorian photographs were fascinating. The walk itself up to the top was full of lush... More

Reading the reviews before hand I was a bit apprehensive, but glad we walked through today, ok yes seems expensive at first for a family of 4 to walk through, but with a 4 & 5yr olds, the were genuinely interested, one of those places that you can tick off the list and not re-visit. Today was a nice sunny... More
