Enjoyed the atmosphere and the welcome shade on a hot day. More for adults than young children, but its history might interest older children.

We have visited the Chine a number of times and we never tire of it. It is so pretty down there, especially once the sun has set as it is all lit up. We always park on Shanklin seafront, take the Cliff lift up and walk up to the old town, its much easier to walk down the Chine rather... More

The chine is a beautiful natural water-caused cliff and waterfall. It does have an entry fee (£4 adults). It is quite a steep climb so for the fit only.

First tried to go down in evening at 9.20pm to see the lights (Still light in July) but even though it said last entry 30 minutes before closing time (10pm) it was closing. Went another night earlier and had the place to our selves. 50 years since we last went but still enchanting

Fantastic as long as you don't mind a long walk down and back up a massive hill. Visiting in evening for the lights highly recommended for the full magical experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Shanklin Chine although I was a bit short of time because I was trying to cram so much into one day. It was lovely and green and cool on a very hot day and I soon arrived at the bottom with the fantastic coastal views. I had wanted to see the Turner exhibition, but... More

I did feel the price was a little steep - because you didn't get to return without paying more. But once in, it was lovely and the beautiful relaxing waterfall. It was a very hot day and in the chine it was nice and cool. Dogs can go too so again nice for them because it's cool. Loved the information... More

This place was amazing. I love waterfall and have visited most in the country. This is everything you don’t get from a nature walk. I love all natural look however Shanklin Chin hits the commensal tweaks just right. I waited until 9pm to go down as I wanted to see the lights (its actually a pity they only do this... More

Cool walk on a sunny day. The waterfall is so relaxing to watch. Our daughter loved the little pond with big fishes in it and all the birds in the aviary. All the green and lush plants near the shop and coffee was our best area to admire and we stayed there for a long time. Educational centre was interesting... More

Beautiful - and highly recommended, but I was bitten badly, due to the water and damp surroundings, so I could have done with some insect repellent. Bear in mind they do not take anything but cash......£4.00 per adult, so make sure you have some change. The view from the top is stunning, but I did find it hard going getting... More
