Very pretty but a very small place. We couldn't believe how short the walk through the gorge was, it was all over in several minutes. I expected a bit more when paying £4.20. If we had paid £1 - £2 then I probably wouldn't have much to gripe about. The Turner Exhibition was okay and it was nice to see... More

We're glad we visited this gem. There's a museum of sorts near the Esplanade entrance, with a documentary on the PLUTO (Pipe Line Under The Ocean) operation which was quite interesting. The real attraction was the walk through the gorge though - stunning. Little more to be said really. This is the scenerary that inspired Keats and Austen amongst many... More

This is the second time going to Skanklin Chine and this is a great walk with amazing views. It is also very reasonably priced. We were on our honeymoon and as it had been raining, there were not very many people there. This resulted in the waterfall being particularly spectacular. It was very romantic.

We saw the Chine from the outside in the afternoon, it looked quite interesting, so we decided to go back in the evening, when it's all lit up. It was well worth it, there are some stunning photoes to be had, they make the lights work very well against some of the rocks and plants. We were not dissapointed, and hopefully... More

Visited on a wet evening, it didn't spoil our enjoyment. My grandson was enchanted by it. Lights were lovely. Magical

We have been here many times. It's a lovely walk down through the chine. Not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. There is a museum, cafe and small gift shop. Once you get to the exit you need to get a return pass and you can walk back up through. It is open to late evening and is lit up. Well... More

Go in the daytime to take in the actual plants and flowers and the spectacular views from the top and the info points. Then go again at night for the beautiful lights on the waterfalls and the stream and on the plants. Enter via the old village entrance and ask them about the night time re-entry ticket which you can... More
