Positives Scenic and informative with cafe allow a hour or so. Good for photography, ideally visit at dusk to see lighting. Negatives, doesn't allow you to re enter once left, charging for kids when there's not a lot of interest from primary aged kids.

For such a little stream visible from the entry road (next to The Crab pub), a tall waterfall and windy stream down to the sea. Very picturesque, best in evening when lit. Bit expensive for short walk.

A very pretty walk down some steps where you can see some waterfalls goes from Shanklin old town to the sea front if the steps are too much to walk back up there is a lift on the sea front which will take you part of the way back it costs £1.

I've seen mixed reviews, but we loved it. Had a lovely walk through to The Esplanade on route to dinner. Beautiful views and plants and great insight into the Isle of Wight. Staff helpful too. I recommend.

This is a natural gorge with a river that runs from the hills in Shanklin to the sea. Over the years the water has created waterfalls and many unusual and rare plants grow in the chine. However it really is just a path through a fairly damp gorge. It cost our family of 4 over £11 to do this. Quite... More

Shanklin Chine is peaceful oasis in the middle of a busy little village. The moment you step into it you are in a lush, green haven. Steps take you down through the chine past waterfalls, streams, quirky things like P.L.U.T.O (Pipe line Under The Sea), chipmunks, an aviary, a Victorian bath etc. you can choose whether to walk through &...
