Interesting but not worth £4.00. It's a pretty gorge that you walk through in about 20 minutes. The Shanklin to Ventnor walk is better and it's free.

£8 for 2 for a walk by a stream with some trees. I think I am missing something here. Won't be rushing back on the next visit.

Be warned you will need cash to pay the entrance fee and the nearest cash point is about 20 minute walk along the seafront and can be a bit much for small children on a scorching hot day, so go prepared! The paths themselves are not much good for buggies and I would recommend putting toddlers on reins until you... More

Lovely to walk through during the day, like a temperate rain forest, but magical at night under subdued lighting in the trees and foliage. Also, very interesting to read about the PLUTO project during WW11 when the pipeline ran through the Chine. Don't miss this place if you are on the Island, particularly if staying in Shanklin.

No signage or information, just a walk from one end to the other The most interesting part was watching the video about the pipeline

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the welcome shade on a hot day. More for adults than young children, but its history might interest older children.

We have visited the Chine a number of times and we never tire of it. It is so pretty down there, especially once the sun has set as it is all lit up. We always park on Shanklin seafront, take the Cliff lift up and walk up to the old town, its much easier to walk down the Chine rather... More

The chine is a beautiful natural water-caused cliff and waterfall. It does have an entry fee (£4 adults). It is quite a steep climb so for the fit only.

First tried to go down in evening at 9.20pm to see the lights (Still light in July) but even though it said last entry 30 minutes before closing time (10pm) it was closing. Went another night earlier and had the place to our selves. 50 years since we last went but still enchanting

Fantastic as long as you don't mind a long walk down and back up a massive hill. Visiting in evening for the lights highly recommended for the full magical experience.
