Belhaven Beach - just outside Dunbar may be less 'obvious' than Bamburgh and doesn't give instant access to ice creams, pubs and chip shops, but it is a real gem. Park either at Belhaven and use the 'bridge to nowhere' tide depending, or park at John Muir Reserve which is down he same road as East Links Children's Park. Access... More

One of the most beautiful places I have seen We pulled over when driving by attracted by the stunning view then had a walk down tom the sea. The beach seemed quite unspoiled with just a few other walkers and surfers around . Not sure that this is a sitting and sand castles kind of beach as no facilities, that... More

Beautiful sandy beach with excellent waves. Had a thoroughly enjoyable day before heading into the town.

I love the beach, fresh air and plenty of space. There is a bridge called 'the bridge to nowhere' here, you'll understand why when you visit. Excellent.

We have been to this beach many times and never get tired of walking along it and looking at the views from the beach. The only negative I have is the access over the bridge, it's a pity East lothian council could not spend some money and replace the bridge with a better access to the beach.

Beautiful area but what a trek to the beach, you can park up but it will take about 10 minutes so don't go laden with stuff

We were staying at nearby Thurston Manor and Belhaven Beach was a short drive away. We walked over the salt marshes from the John Muir Nature Reserve to Belhaven Beach. We were blessed with good weather and the wide expanse of beach was breath taking. Our Whippet was in seventh heaven - zooming round the sands and charging through the... More

A great beach for paddling, playing, kite flying, swimming, surfing, walking, lazing about. Although it all depends on the weather. Have been a few times and it has been quite windy (great for kites). Plenty room for everyone as it's a large beach in the bay. Check the tide times as you can get cut off quickly as it is... More

A great beach with miles of unspoiled flat sand but beware the tide can cut you off. This beach is quite a walk from Dunbar but there is parking ...though you now have to pay for this so park in the local roads nearby sadly the council has jumped on the "Ripoff Britain" bandwagon.
