Beautiful sandy beach and plenty of cliff top walks leading to a lovely little fishing harbour. Lots of shops and cafe's and award winning public toilets. Dunbar has it all.

The beach is access from a free car park on the west side of Dunbar. A river separates the car park from the beach. There’s a footbridge over the river, or you can paddle through it. The river bed and banks are stony but from then onwards it’s about two miles of sand: loads and loads of it. The beach... More

I'll confess that we had never heard of Belhaven Beach until we visited in November 2014. The beach is about two miles long and on the day we visited there was hardly a soul on it. The dog absolutely loved the walk and we will return the next time we are in the area. I'll remember my trainers next time... More

You can walk two miles along this beach - but bear in mind that it is two miles back again as well. You will see very few people on the beach even in high season. Birdwatching on the adjacent saltings is superb. There is a coastal path round the edge of a golf course into central Dunbar which is stunning... More

Saw the beach during a hot sunny spell.... magic - could have been anywhere in Europe. Some picnic benches to sit and take in the view.

This is an un spoilt part of the world and the beach is beautiful what ever the weather. Walk, collect shells, surf or just breathe in the sea air and admire the views.

A great destination for all wether you are a local or a visitor. A great run to the beach from town to the estuary and back. Drive and park your car, good amount of parking. Good facilities from toilets to showers and pet requirements. Great to see all the dogs enjoying big runs. Kite surfing, surfing, picnics, families. Bring a... More

Beautiful big beach was spectacular and we thoroughly enjoyed walking/running around on it. Plenty of parking and an incredible beach to wander around, definitely somewhere to go on a trip to Dunbar!

I have lived next to this beach for 20 years and walk it regularly. It is beautiful at all times of year. Lots of wildlife too with various species of ducks, sanderlings and oystercatchers in winter. Grey herons and terns in summer. Access is from the West Barns end next to the family park or via the bridge at the... More

This is a great place to walk the dog or have a family day out. Parking at the car park behind East Links Family park gives you the choice of beach or woodland walks. There are excellent toilets, a beach shower and dog water available beside the car park. There is also a fantastic playground with very nice equipment...at the... More
