Nice butcher, baker, cheese and herb vendors plus many others. Lovely entryway. Right in the downtown. Reasonable prices.

In the old days you could rely on Woolworths to sell you a few nails or odd buttons but now you can go to Durham's indoor market. All the old services you thought had disappeared are here in a mediaeval- like setting; you walk downhill into the dark and crowded chamber to find a hotchpotch of stalls and eating places.... More

As it was very cold and wet the indoor market was a good choice. Also nice and warm in there not like the hotel we stayed in

Great if you want a watch repair, key cutting or show repair or are into arts and craft and want to buy supplies. The only issue with it its rather cramped but apart from that a very good indoor market.

It was like going back in time. Lots of small stalls with loads of character. Something for everyone. My home town has been robbed of all its market character. You should be proud of your wonderful market hall.

This place is worth a look for the architecture and atmosphere even if you have no intention of spending any money although there is a wide variety of stalls, many of which have goods for sale at reasonable prices. The cafe is good and very cheap (jacket pot with beans at about £2 ish). There are also free toilets.

Nice little market and a few interesting stalls that sell unusual products, but too many selling over priced poor quality items. I would however recommend finding the small shop on the front of the church that adjoins the market square as they sell some fair trade products which are well worth a look.

This place was busy though not my cup of tea, though we did have a nice cuppa upstairs in the cafe. If you like markets there were plenty of stalls here

went to Durham city indoor market, but was a bit disappointed with walking around could not enjoy taking in the stalls as the walkway's are far to small, you have to stop quite often to let other people walk past especially if other people are looking at the stall's and it is a no no if you are taking a...
