We popped in her for a wonder around which was ok. A few nice bakery's, cheese shops which I would have purchased from but was staying in a B&B so had nowhere to store.

This is a brilliant place of spot of shopping and even getting something to eat - at one if not more cafes actually inside. The usual mix of food and interesting stalls to cater for just about everyone's tastes.

First visited the market about 7 years ago and thought that it was ok but nothing special. Since then I have moved the the region and have been several times and found that with more and varied stalls it is actually a good place to visit far better than on first impressions. Centrally located in Durham city it is somewhere... More

Called into the indoor market last weekend during our visit to Durham,it was ok,just ok nothing special but worth a look. it was University graduation week so the Cathdral was very very busy with students and their proud parents, so it was a treat to get away from all the activity and do the market. We called into the Salvation... More

It has an eclectic mix of stalls from those that you'd expect (selling food, books, cards etc) to those that you wouldn't (medieval re-enactment supplies, authentic Turkish mosaic lamps and a traditional tobacconists). I'd be tempted to say that the market's aimed at an older,... More

A nicely laid out market with a good selection of stalls and a nice cafe upstairs overlooking the market.

There is nothing like the atmosphere of an indoor market.A vast variety of stalls, take you're time to look, and there is something for everyone, with prices to suit all pockets.

visited when we went to durham, this is to me a proper traditional type of market nooks and crannies to explore and plenty to look and peruse at my husbands choice was the model car stall, as he is an avid collector. we enjoyed the visit and would recommend you call in when in durham
