Charming hall and gardens, plenty of information to allow you to explore the very old hall and gardens. It was lovely in March so it would be gorgeous in Spring and Summer. We had a lovely home made lunch of soup and salad all beautifully presented on old china crockery, served in the gift shop with a roaring fire to... More

The gardens are beautiful. We have an annual pass and try to go each season. The hall is interesting and worth a look inside.

Have had family annual membership with Crook Hall for a number of years but unfortunately now feel children are not welcome unless it's a children's themed day. Crook Hall are now shifting the emphasis to afternoon tea. Today and on our previous visit I was constantly telling the children to be quiet and, in fact, the lady on the gate... More

I am so sorry you felt disappointed on your recent visit especially as you have enjoyed so many visits over the years. We do welcome all ages to the gardens from a six day old baby to our oldest guest who was 104 years old. We are delighted to welcome children any time we are open. Maggie with her background... So delighted your whole family enjoyed the Mothers Day outing. Your children were very welcome and we noted how they both behaved like real princesses when they took tea. Some of the children who came for afternoon tea in February were joined at the table by the Mad Hatter and Alice. Maybe they would like to visit again when we... More

We went here in the summer to outdoor Shakespeare. It's bliss. You take a picnic and drink and chairs if you want or a rug. It isn't expensive, the house itself is old and has loads of character and do visit and have lunch at the house and look round. The gardens run one into another and are spectacular.

I am so pleased you enjoyed the theatre. These evenings are increasing in popularity. We all enjoy them so much and the players/actors are really good. We will no doubt see you again for one of the three plays we are staging. Thank you for your feedback. More

An interesting collection of old buildings which have evolved through the centuries, set in prettily arranged gardens. Try to visit on a sunny day to gain best impact. Stay for afternoon tea. Browse the artist displays. Kids can explore hidden surprises in the gardens. Friendly staff.

You have made some lovely comments thank you. It is always reminds me of the secret garden and children love to explore all the hidden corners of the gardens. The art exhibitions are of interest to some people , the food and drink of interest to most people. We look forward to welcoming you again. More

I've been to Crook Hall a few times with my girls and always enjoyed a wander around the beautiful gardens, so when I saw they were holding an Alice in the Gardens theme I couldn't resist. As a half term treat I also booked afternoon tea for the girls as well as me and my mam. The cost of this... More

If the weather is good it's a lovely spot. We had a a very nice cream tea although the café was a little cramped. Also visited just before Christmas two years ago. Took two children who thoroughly enjoyed their outdoor treasure hunt then went inside to have a mock snowball fight, a fireside story and the best Santa grotto they... More

Thank you for your comments. I am delighted you enjoyed your Christmas visit. In the summer we have plenty of cafe space but I can understand your comment. Since your visit we have extended all the food areas. We have a lovely afternoon tea room with views of the cathedral. We are also nearing completion of our new visitor centre... More

Thoroughly enjoy all of the Easter activities they even let adults like me join in the egg hunt for a small charge. There is a cafe there with a small range of vegetarian foods but the food was well cooked and hot. The gardens were worth the visit alonebut the volunteers with their ghost stories made my visit. It is... More
