I love Crook Hall and have been several times for afternoon tea. The food is lovely with the dainty little cakes being a particular pleasure but the really special thing about this place are the gardens which are second to none! Such a gorgeous maze of flowers, trees and a lovely pond. The house itself is outstanding, definitely take time... More

I had no idea Crook Hall & Gardens were there until a friend took me! A couple of minutes walk from the bustling Durham city centre you'll find an oasis of beautiful secluded gardens where you can just wander at will or sit in a quiet corner. The Hall at the centre of it all is an attractive and interesting... More

Went to my niece's wedding on 27th Dec - staff were friendly, and attentive from start to finish (without ever being intrusive). The Hall is delightful - beautiful stone and lots of odd nook sna crannies. We even discovered Santa's grotto

It was such a special occasion and I am so pleased you enjoyed the day. I was particularly interested in a wedding at this time of year as our daughter is getting married on New Years Eve - a year today here at crook hall. All the family are really excited. Thank you for your feedback. We hope you visit... More

What a wonderful and magical experience that the whole family enjoyed. From the treasure hunt to the snowball fight to the story telling and meeting Father Christmas (who knew facts about the children) this is what Christmas is all about. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely go again next year!

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so proud of our Christmas Event. We try to make it magical and we all work hard to organise the event. We were nearly fully booked by the end of October which I suppose attests to the success and popularity of our event. We have already booked Father Christmas for next... More

I am so pleased you enjoyed your celebration. It is rather a special and unusual place. I had someone who also came for a birthday celebration in December just say that Crook Hall is just so different there is nowhere else like it. We are all very keen to make it such a special place for those celebrations whether they... More

Had a wonderful time with family and grandchildren who came along dressed up in fairytale costumes. Had never been before and enjoyed exploring all the different gardens and finding the clues with the children - not to mention finding our way out of the maze! Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf amused the children too and my grand-daughter... More

I have been on 3 occasions and found improvements each time. It is a very peaceful place and the various gardens are a must if you are interested in gardening. The actual house is quite historic. The owners do their best to promote local art by showing pictures around the walls and other crafts - I was very surprised to... More

Lovely garden, very varied, decent cream tea & a very remarkable house. Not exciting for the stuff inside, but for the different periods of architecture combined. And a serious ghost!!!

Thank you for your feedback I am so pleased you enjoy the scones and the gardens. You may be interested to know we are opening more of the house in 2015 and we are scheduling in a number of art exhibitions so the interiors will hopefully add to your next visit. Thank you More

We come here every few months just for a walk, to see what's new in the gardens and have a cup of coffee. It's a beautiful place, such a nice, quiet oasis right in the middle of the city, I'd recommend it as a must-see when visiting Durham.

Thank you so much for your comments. I am delighted that part of your regular trips to durham include a visit to us. You have probably heard we are opening a new cafe and shop however we will still have the courtyard and garden cafe as well as the Afternoon Tea rooms. Hope to welcome you again in 2015 More

Thank you so much for your feedback. It's lovely that you come across from the west coast so often to visit us. Certainly having an annual pass is good value for our local visitors but I am delighted that you come such a distance to visit. You will no doubt reap the benefits of seeing the gardens during different seasons.... More
