Had a wonderful time with family and grandchildren who came along dressed up in fairytale costumes. Had never been before and enjoyed exploring all the different gardens and finding the clues with the children - not to mention finding our way out of the maze! Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf amused the children too and my grand-daughter... More

I have been on 3 occasions and found improvements each time. It is a very peaceful place and the various gardens are a must if you are interested in gardening. The actual house is quite historic. The owners do their best to promote local art by showing pictures around the walls and other crafts - I was very surprised to... More

Lovely garden, very varied, decent cream tea & a very remarkable house. Not exciting for the stuff inside, but for the different periods of architecture combined. And a serious ghost!!!

We come here every few months just for a walk, to see what's new in the gardens and have a cup of coffee. It's a beautiful place, such a nice, quiet oasis right in the middle of the city, I'd recommend it as a must-see when visiting Durham.

I'm afraid to say I've come from Durham and lived there most of my life and this is the first time I have been to Crook Hall! Always wondered what it was! Visiting family and we decided to pop into Durham. Parked at crook hall as only place we could find a space and what a gem!! Had no idea... More

Thank you for your lovely feedback. It is always surprising how many people like yourself live on the doorstep and then choose to visit. More often than not they then purchase an annual pass to come back more often. Thanks again More

Enjoyed a lovely homemade soup and toasted sandwich by the fire place. My coffee was topped up on numerous occasions free of charge. Very impressed! Gardens are still interesting to walk around and I got some nice photos! Staff are the nicest I have come across!

Thank you so much for your comments. We are so proud of our staff and the service they give. We are opening a new cafe outside the gate which you may choose to visit next time. I am pleased a walk around the gardens gave you the opportunity to take some good photos. Thanks again for your feedback More

Whilst visiting friends in the area, we stopped by Crook hall, which had been recommended to us several times. One friend considered getting married here as it really is a unique venue right in the heart of Durham. We were not disappointed. This enchanting house is a very special place, full of history and different achitectural styles. The staff were... More

I have been to crook hall many times as I have a season pass. The gardens and house are beautiful. The special events they do are very well organised. I have been to the pirates and princess day with my children the fairy tale week and the Halloween day. There are always people dressed up to fit the theme. They... More
