I've been to Crook Hall a few times with my girls and always enjoyed a wander around the beautiful gardens, so when I saw they were holding an Alice in the Gardens theme I couldn't resist. As a half term treat I also booked afternoon tea for the girls as well as me and my mam. The cost of this... More

If the weather is good it's a lovely spot. We had a a very nice cream tea although the café was a little cramped. Also visited just before Christmas two years ago. Took two children who thoroughly enjoyed their outdoor treasure hunt then went inside to have a mock snowball fight, a fireside story and the best Santa grotto they... More

Thank you for your comments. I am delighted you enjoyed your Christmas visit. In the summer we have plenty of cafe space but I can understand your comment. Since your visit we have extended all the food areas. We have a lovely afternoon tea room with views of the cathedral. We are also nearing completion of our new visitor centre... More

Thoroughly enjoy all of the Easter activities they even let adults like me join in the egg hunt for a small charge. There is a cafe there with a small range of vegetarian foods but the food was well cooked and hot. The gardens were worth the visit alonebut the volunteers with their ghost stories made my visit. It is... More

Thank you so much for your comments. We do hope you pay another visit this Easter. I suspect the same volunteers will be here if you need some more ghostly stories. More

A morning wandering around the beautiful well kept gardens then into the house an oldie worldie feeling about it . A wonderful place for weddings and only a few minutes walk from Durham city centre a beautiful view of the Cathedral for photos . Then into the dining room for lunch all home cooked food a glass of wine all... More

Thank you for your kind comments. We are certainly popular for weddings. You mention children and we do cater for youngsters especially with our events. Our oldest visitor was 104 and our youngest was three days old! I am pleased you enjoyed your wander around the gardens and a glass of wine and some food. A lovely way to spend... More

I am delighted you enjoyed your visit. The actors were brilliant. We are all so excited about the new visitor centre opening. It should be a great addition. We will have a slightly different menu down there and it will complement what we already offer. Thank you for your feedback More

I love Crook Hall and have been several times for afternoon tea. The food is lovely with the dainty little cakes being a particular pleasure but the really special thing about this place are the gardens which are second to none! Such a gorgeous maze of flowers, trees and a lovely pond. The house itself is outstanding, definitely take time... More

I had no idea Crook Hall & Gardens were there until a friend took me! A couple of minutes walk from the bustling Durham city centre you'll find an oasis of beautiful secluded gardens where you can just wander at will or sit in a quiet corner. Went to my niece's wedding on 27th Dec - staff were friendly, and attentive from start to finish (without ever being intrusive). The Hall is delightful - beautiful stone and lots of odd nook sna crannies. We even discovered Santa's grotto
