Have visited several times now and the gardens looked exceptionally lovely in the summer sun. Had a bite to eat outside and just wanted to express my thanks to the gentleman who served us. I like my coffee quite strong and he put an extra scoop in my cafetiere. Great to see the new tea room open as well, long... More

We visited on a very warm Summers day, which was perfect for a meander through the flower filled gardens and courtyards of Crook Hall. The flower beds are all blissfully chaotic and bursting with fragrance and colour. New planting sits comfortably with old and the original touches co exist alongside mpdern additions. Staff are friendly and the Visitor Centre restaurant... More

Went here for a High Tea to celebrate my daughter's graduation. Fabulous treat, setting was stunning. Beautiful unfussy but skilfully planted gardens comparable to Stokesay Castle in Shropshire. Staff were warm, friendly and efficient.

Following a recommendation. We chose Crook hall and their afternoon tea to celebrate our son & his girlfriends graduation. Ours was a party of 9 including 6 with specific (and different) dietary needs. We visited in March to see if this would be possible & were met with an understanding and positive response. We gave details of each persons needs... More

Wonderful graduation tea in beautiful settings and amazing views of Durham Cathedral. Staff gave us a really warm welcome & food was excellent! My mum said the scones were as good as hers!! Gardens and medieval hall were magical! Easy to park too! A really special venue for a very special day! Thank you.

It was unbelievable that this beautiful hall and gardens was just a short walk from central Durham. Loved the way the gardens were laid out and the wee I gems to look for in each one.Ha coffee and cream scones at the hall which was delish! Well worth the visit.

We arrived as the rain started, well it's the northeast so I was not surprised at it. what did surprise and amaze me was the wonderful gardens, so well laid out and tended. I'd expected to be there about and hour but actually spent 4. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed our time there despite the... More

I have been a regular visitor to Crook Hall for the last 6 years and absolutely love this beautiful house and its lovely gardens. Yesterday was my first visit for afternoon tea and from the friendly welcome, beautiful surroundings and delicious food served on pretty china, it continued to live up to the excellent reputation it has - even on... Visited with friends for sparkling afternoon tea which includes entry to hall and gardens. Food absolutely gorgeous and presented on fabulous china in a lovely room. Only minor criticism was that the caramel shortbread didn't seem homemade and wasn't nice. Gardens beautiful .staff friendly and professional. Will definitely return and will recommend people to visit.

Every year on Halloween I go here and it's so so fun. I love bringing my niece here, and I can show her all the hidden gems that she wouldn't have found unless I'd been here a 100 times before :') It's a fun day out really.
