Westward Ho! is a mix of Victorian buildings, bungalows, a few original fishermen's cottages, some ultra-modern flats, and several caravan and chalet parks. But you don't go for the shopping, you go for the beautiful flat beach, which is backed by a high... More

On paper, our UK break to Westward Ho! sounded like the perfect getaway – just me, the girlfriend and two weeks of sunshine at the best hotel on the seafront. The Devon cream teas were splendid and the crazy golf entertaining. The beach and it's blue flag (I believe) very pleasant for a seaside picnic but, overall, what a letdown!!

We thought is was mad made until we looked it up later and learned that these rocks are brought in by the sea. They provide a wind break and then you scramble over the top and down... More

We stayed in the best room in the best hotel but were very disappointed. Met a Swedish couple who agreed. Next year we will stay in Dorset.

There's a nice beach with sand and a rock wave break. Make sure you get a Mr Hockings ice cream which are super tasty. Pop in to the amusements or just go for a stroll.

Beautiful beach, sweet little prom, plenty of places to eat, and plenty of parking. Good life guard coverage for the surfers.
