Westward ho is a lovely little coastal town with a selection of bars, amusements and eateries. We took a walk out in March when the sunshine was out and it was lovely, beach was quiet so kids could have a run around and of course the famous hockings ice cream vans had just come back out so we had a... This was our first time visiting this part of the country and we were not disappointed ! We stayed in the Ocean Park apartments and they were absolutely fantastic 😃. We were a couple of minutes walk from the Promenade which was full of restaurants, local shops and the golf course (it is huge). We brought our two teenagers and... More

We've been coming to NDSS for years for lessons, equipment hiring, refreshers, technical advice, weather and surf predictions, you name it. We cannot recommend this place more highly for Justin's (the owner) outstanding tuition and team. From tots to teenagers to errr, 'middle aged and hopefully beyond', they will make you a better surfer at any level. The team is... More

Living locally we come here often, it's just so lovely. Thirty years ago it wasn't such a nice place but now it's so much improved. It's crowning glory is the beach, this week I came for a birthday outing and couldn't have picked a more perfect day. It was a beautiful sunny morning and when we walked up over the... More

We went to Westward Ho to find the 'Pebble Ridge Adventure Golf & Go Karts'. My boys aged 10 & 7, LOVED the proper petrol go-karts which cost us £4.00 per go. The guys running it were friendly and helpful. While there is a height restriction on the karts, smaller children can ride in a double kart with an adult... More

Many years ago , surf can be rough . Was advised not to try. And the consequences of ignoring that advice. Clear and precise. Air sea rescue will cost you maningi $ . Obviously , ventured in . No flippers . I got pounded . The waves kept coming . Sure , dive under, no deeper than the sand .... More

Just loved the name and for this it gets 'very good', popped into this beach resort returning from Clovelly to Ilfracombe, a very long beach, but worth an hour or 2 just so you can tell your friends you went there! However if you want a really beautiful beach keep heading north east for Woolacombe, now that is beautiful!
