Such a beautiful place to visit. We spent most of our day here and enjoyed every minute. So peaceful and a rainbow of colour, what a privilege. Will definitely visit again.

After a longish walk from the car park we were met by the person selling the tickets who, before taking our money, insisted on expounding his views of the nearby Fullabrook Wind Farm (which can't even be seen from the lower gardens). We didn't climb to the higher parts so I don't know whether it could be seen from there.... More

A regular afternoon outing for our extended family when in north devon. Lovely gardens and village hall selling cream teas on bank holiday weekends. Quaint village church worth a visit too.

I visited 18/9/14, a real in-between date in as much as many of the flowers were dying off, but it was a little too early for many of the leaves to be turning - both of which are tempting me to visit earlier in the year as well as later! Beautifully laid out gardens, fantastic selection of flowers, trees and... More

We'd read that the gardens were clearly signposted from Barnstaple - that wasn't our experience. Ended up asking directions from policemen & even with the help of their satnav ended up taking a very scenic & unnecessarily long route. The car park is some distance from the garden which wasn't a problem for us but could be for others who... More

This was my second visit to Marwood Hill Garden and I felt the garden was not quite as good as it was on my last visit. It seemed rather tired in places, not quite so cared for and the nursery stock was low. Maybe it was because the visit was rather late in the year. However the cream tea was... More

Used a voucher for a 2 for 1 visit to these gardens acquired from Groupon and were not disappointed. The gardens, set in a valley about 4 miles from Barnstaple, provide a good walk with varied and beautiful vistas of lakes and trees and some lovely arrangements of specimen plants. We went in September which is at the end of the... More

What wonderful scenery - a real hidden gem! These gardens house a great collection of rare shrubs and trees, as well a beautiful lake and well priced garden centre. The tea rooms are a particular highlight - one of the most delicious Devonshire scones I've ever had and an array of tasty sandwiches to boot!

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the gardens fortified by the generous cream tea/coffee in the tearoom with a beautiful view. Ginger cream tea with honey is also an option. Locally produced crafts, preserves and cards are also available to purchase in the tearoom. I bought a delicious cake to take away and enjoyed it a lot later. Entry was... More

Amazing Gardens. Stream running through, and lake too. Fantastic Tea rooms overlooking all. Would highly recommend.
