As a member of the Trust we go all over the country. This was our first visit here with our young kids. The place was a pleasure to walk in, beautiful gardens and the main attraction the carriages. You won't be disappointed.

One of the best national trust properties we have visited as a family; something for everyone. The carriage museum was amazing with Charles and Diana's wedding carriage, dressing up for kids, beautiful walks and play parks for kids including; muddy rope climbingand den building. We ran out of time to do everything. Put kids in their scruffs and they will... More

My Husband and I visited after having a lovely walk. We decided to go to the coffee shop for something to eat. We were very disappointed that there was very little choice and there was scaffolding around the seating area so there was not much space to sit outside.

A lovely national trust property with plenty to do of you like a walk and a bit of playing. The cafe is nice and serves quickly, as with any national trust place some items are quite expensive but having said that the cream tea is excellent. We shared one as you get two scones so just bought an additional drink.... More

Firstly the museum. This is one of those surprising places that after your visit you'll never look at the good old movies quite the same again. I never knew there had been so many variations of carriage for societies needs back then. From the professional such as a Doctor right through to the rich and not so well off plus... More

We visited on a gloriously sunny day and made the most of it. My daughter was fascinated by the beautifully drawn trail sheet which captured her imagination and held her interest throughout the day- trawling through a carriage museum is much more child-friendly when hunting robins! She was wowed by the golden carriage, enjoyed dressing up and harnessing a wooden... More

We lived in Devon for 15 years and this was the place we went to relax, have a cup of tea and have a peaceful walk. It was one of the things we miss. The last thing we bought from Arlington was a rhubarb plant so when we have crumble it reminds us of that wonderful place.

My wife and I have family membership for the National Trust. Our children are 3 and 5. The National Trust have significantly improved in terms of what they offer to young people since I was a child. There is a fantastic nature trail and obstacle course in the Woods for the children. My children also loved looking around the House... More

We liked the house, which was interesting, the grounds, and the carriage museum. We learned a lot about horses and carriages. The teashop is on the small side, but work is ongoing.
