We decided to visit this house as we were looking for something to entertain us on a cloudy day. My wife and I are both National Trust members and were recommended this visit by my daughter who had recently visited. The house was very interesting and the guides on hand were very informative if you asked a question. The tea... More

My seven year old daughter didn't want to be stuck indoors, so we ended up doing the 1.5 mile 'red trail' around the lake. This is clearly marked & easily negotiated. Let your children persuade you to go, as you & they will discover two of the best outdoor play areas, all wood & ropes, hidden amongst the trees. A... More

We were recommended to this house and were very pleased by it. It was a fascinating house with lovely gardens, plus a carriage museum which housed the state carriage. There is even a bat cam to see the bats which reside in the old kitchen which was great fun and interesting for the children. There was a talk and show... More

We went as an extended family group including two young children. Arriving at 11.30 we planned to have a brief look round before lunch ....... Followed by visits round the house and museum. Arriving at the tea room at noon we found that the small tea room was already full and we were directed to the 'overflow' room which was... More

We initially went because it meant we could see something in the area without getting too wet as we were having heavy rain. The house itself from the outside doesn't seem to have that much going for it, rather bland in appearance. However once you step inside it is beautiful. Lots of the house is available for viewing and it... More

We are members of the N.T. and would recommend this place. Lots to do, look around the house, the carriage museum which is very well interesting, don't miss the royal carriage, the church. In all children's holidays they pit on some type of craft activities. Lots of lovely walks or sit by the pond and have a picnic. Worth a... More

The house was smaller than expected but very interesting. Certainly the vast collection of horse drawn carriages was a bonus, especially the Speaker of the House of Commons carriage which his on a long term loan.

I am not a carriage person but the exhibition at Arlington just has to be seen! Outstanding. Really helpful information leaflets and descriptions. Disappointed that the Speakers State carriage is so bound by pettiness - not the fault of Arlington nor the NT. The rooms are well laid out with plenty of access. The room information leaflets are plentiful and... More

with one of the best Ship collections I have ever seen the whole is well maintained and as is now the normal with National Trust there were areas where children could do challenges and try on clothes of the period. The volunteers were excellent with information and the Carriage Museum was an interesting add on we did not expect.
