This has to be one of the best libraries around! Such a huge choice of books, plus DVDs and audiobooks on CD. Computers available for surfing the Net or checking your emails. Even drinks available! And the record office for you to look through archive material on the area, look up family records, or read old copies of the Evening... More

We went here to do some family research only to discover the archives are not open on a Monday; however, the staff were very friendly and helpful and directed us to the collection of local reference materials and we spent a coule of hours perusing. Perfect way to spend a rainy Monday morning.

Plenty of choice in reading matter. Staff always helpful and cheerful. They know who I am but there again I have been using the library for the last 24 years!

Lovely quiet library, very big. Has a large children's section, as well as a bigger adult section, with non-fiction and fiction sections. It has a lot of computers with internet access too.

Love the building and saved my life when internet died. Fab library card and the question they ask all "Have you ever lived in Whitehaven?!" still has me scratching my head. Why would it matter?

This is a top rated library. It's a pity the museum upstairs has had to close.
