These Lake Cruises have been operating on Windermere for years. They are always a joy. We parked at Lakeside and went to Bowness. A great way to see the Lake.

Went on the lake cruise which was a 90 minute roundtrip cruise. Well worth going on. Stunning scenery and a great way to see the lakes and get some good photographs.

We bought a 24 hour Freedom of the Lake ticket at 1540 for £18.50 each at Bowness. This entitles you to go on four different trips. We did the Lakeside one immediately at 1600. As it was the last return trip for the day we returned on the same boat which arrived back at 1730. Beautiful day and a lovely... More

I like being on the water; the cruise was 45 minutes long and very enjoyable. Crew were very helpful to help us on and off the boat.

We caught the boat at Bowness and went up to Ambleside before disembarking and having a walk into Ambleside Town Centre (about a mile away). Nice wander round the town before we headed back and sailed back to Bowness. Great way to see some of the sights from Windermere.

What a pleasant way to spend just over an hour on Friday cruise up to Ambleside in one of the launches then back to Bowness, then on Sunday cruise down to Lakeside on the Swan and back. Which ever way you go, you have great views. Also on the way being given an informative talk. Sit in the saloon have... More

We purchased the freedom of the lakes ticket, which permitted us to view all the lake from one end to the other. We went from Bowness to Lakeside, where there was an option to board the steam train to Haverthwaite and the Lakeland motor museum. Then back again to Bowness and onto Ambleside where there is a small selection of... More
