Boarded the boat in Bowness on a round trip, but able to disembark at Brockholes and Ambleside. The cruise was ideal, blue sky and calm waters. We chose to disembark at Ambleside. We had a steady walk but because we were on a tight schedule to return we did not actually make it to Ambleside. I should point out the... More

We spent a perfect day travelling around the lake with this ticket. It cost just £10 per person, dogs go free. Ticket includes three boat trips and a lovely four mile walk. Great value. Only difficulty was slightly tricky getting large dogs onto the traditional launches used on two legs of the journey. Staff very helpful.

Having been on boats on lakes before, we wanted to try something different, and opted for the walking ticket (£10 each) which consisted of - boat journey from Bowness to Ambleside (25 mins) - boat journey Ambleside to Wray Castle (15 mins) - 4 mile walk from Wray Castle to Ferry Crossing (took just over an hour and a half)... Nice relaxing cruise, not too busy this time of year and staff helpful maybe because they weren't inundated with people, plenty of space to sit and enjoy the lovely lakeside views

First time to windermere and we went on a lake cruise to Ambleside was reasonable priced and the guide gave good talk with humour which is a bonus! Food and drinks can be bought, just take something warm to wear if you go on top deck as it gets very cold with the wind ! Delightful cruise down Windermere and... More

Had a lovely trip out on the Swan to lakeside with full commentary of the area. We bought a bus and boat ticket as this was better value for money. So we went on the bus to AMbleside and Grassmere before getting on a boat.

Atrip on one of the big cruise ships is a must. Best view possible of the lake in relaxing surroundings with cafe and bar. Buy a combined ticket with other attractions for top value. Kids love it, grandparents love it - highly recommended

A great way to get a different view of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells. We took the return trip from Lakeside to Bowness (yellow line) and combined it with entry to the Lakes Aquarium. A small discount was available for combining the two. The journey takes about 40 minutes each way and the views are stunning. The children found... More
