A beautiful house in a stunning location this is a great trip out.Even without furniture the rooms would be lovely. But the house is full wonderful art Deco pieces. At the time of my visit in April there was a very good ceramics exhibition.

This house is a delight and should be on anyone's list when visiting the area. Apart from a stunning property the views from almost every window are great!

A very interesting insight of how this property evolved over the years to present day. With lots of historic items and decoration through the ages. A fabulous display of pottery from the current artists and going back over the last hundred years of Moorcroft. Well worth a visit.

This gorgeous Arts & Crafts house, with stunning views over Lake Windermere, repays not just one but several visits. It has been restored and sympathetically furnished, and there is a wealth of information about the house, its architect and its contents. In addition there is always a temporary exhibition, and these cover a wide range of topics. An excellent café/... More

From the warm greeting on the front desk to the beautiful rooms and exhibition within the house, everything here was wonderful. The house isn't too large to feel overwhelming, but there's enough to enjoy and explore. I've never visited an Arts & Crafts style property before, but the it gave me a good insight into the features of the time.... More

From the exemplary greeting from the lady on the desk to the beautifully presented arts and crafts house, via superb home cooked meals in the cafe and an excellent introductory talk in the great hall the day was a total delight. We could not recall a more interesting visit in a relaxed atmosphere. We will be back!

We could have spent all day here. This house has a very happy feel about it. My wife is very into the arts and crafts stuff and loved it. The cafe is very good and caters well for those who need to eat gluten free food. I enjoyed what I had to eat and only found out afterward it was... More

This is simply stunning. We have visited many much older 'great country houses' (which this certainly is not) and the utter beauty and originality of its Arts and Crafts design, quality of craftsmanship and its setting beats them all. The shop was wonderful, focused on original craft items rather than tacky souvenirs, and the staff delightful. The temporary Moorcroft exhibition... More

The gift shop and cafe are good and interesting enough to visit on their own, but the house is well worth a look - only takes about half an hour - but stay longer if it's your kind of thing: which may depend on the temporary exhibitions, so check their website first).
