We went to the fort on 28th July 2014, we had a lovely day and the views were amazing from the fort, the fort entrance fee was reasonable. There are loads of things to touch or press for the kids and loads of things to climb on like guns and cannons. There is also a mouse hunt were you count... More

Lovely walk round the top of the fort. Some brilliant views, could bring the dog, and had some very interesting displays to look at - pleasing everyone in our party.

It's a good walk around the Nothe, especially if your interested in its war history, it claims to be disabled friendly, but wouldn't advise bringing disabled here as the stairs are very steep and not much of steps and hand rails( kind of have to walk down sideways) I can't see this been a thing that kids would enjoy, however... There is relatively little in the UK in the way of fully-accessible post-medieval fortications in the UK; Nothe Fort is the outstanding example. Beautifully restored, interesting displays, lots to explore, knowledgeable and friendly staff, decent cafe and terrific views from the top levels. On the minus side, the guide book is not very good and includes no plans.

We had decided to visit Nothe Fort before reading some of the less favourable reviews of it on here. Nevertheless we stuck with our plan to visit and were pleasantly surprised. The fort itself is not particularly big but we managed to spend around 3 hours there. My other half is more into history than I am, but we both... More

On our visit we were surprised to find that there was so much to see, with its labyrinth of underground passageways that take some time to walk through them all. It also has a very pleasant Restaurant.

The Fort is an amazing place to look out over Weymouth and all round the coast. There is a lot of history at the fort, but there isn't too much reading to do as you around. You can go down in the underground passageways, some of which are supposed to be haunted. We were also lucky enough to see some... More

Educational, If you like history, this is the place to come. IF not it can get very boring. especially for children.
