This is my second visit to the fort and found it just as interesting this time round. It is over 3 levels (accessed by lift if required). It is a real treat to wander round the fort, and wander through the tunnels. There are some fantastic models (planes, ships etc) to be seen. When you fancy a break there are... More

Went to see the views but enjoyed the exhibitions. Much more to see than we realised. Good value, especially if if you can go back more than once. Not enough people manage to get there

The nothe forte is a great place for families with children of all ages. You get to learn all about the war and the sort of things they used. It is a real step back in time. When u have finished in the museam u can walk along the nothe gardens with a great view of portland port. On the... More

Been 25 years since I last went and it was like visiting a completely different place. They have done so much to it in that time. Lots of interactive things for children, fantastic views, interesting facts on history and lovely cafe selling good coffee and a big slice of cake, yum.

I have to admit that I didn't rush to visit the fort as a local but now I wish I'd discovered it earlier! As others have said, it has an eclectic approach to curation but is all the more charming for it. I took friends there who have young children and the activity searching for the small, wooden mice hiding... More

Fantastic place. Been a few times and it never fails to disappoint. Very interesting and informative with friendly staff and activities for kids as well. With all the history at the site of the fort it is reputedly haunted, and even has its own haunted tunnel! The tunnels underground are fantastic and there are great views of Weymouth from the... A lovely approach to the fort through the gardens and a warm welcome awaits from friendly staff. Well where to start - all 3 levels are extremely interesting with displays to photo and read about at every opportunity. However, the views from the top are spectacular and that in itself is well worth the money on a sunny day. It... More

The volunteers have done an amazing job! Slightly eclectic approach, but lots to see and do. Some interesting displays covering the fort's uses over the years, and some good interactive features that kept my four-year-old interested. There was a nice little mouse hunt to keep his amused throughout. It was a shame though that some features are reserved for school... More
