A historical informative way to spend 1/2 day. They have introduced a mouse hunt for the little ones to make it more interesting for them.

If it's dry you can stroll on high round the ramparts with spectacular views of Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour. You can then go down to ground floor level and rummage through the likes of a Second World War school and... More

this was our second visit this year, again an amazing time had by all, the little ones (3yrs and 2 yrs) enjoyed trying to find the toy mice that are scattered around the fort, very informative for us parents too taking the fort from first conception right through to modern day.

The volunteers are very helpful and make sure the kids know about the competition they can enter, which certainly keeps them entertained on the way round. The displays are brilliant and a lot of effort has been put into bringing the fort to life.... More

You can fill your day at the Fort, loads of things to read, see and listen to. The entrance fee is reasonable and lasts for 1 year. The staff are very knowledgable about the building and surroundings, they were interesting to listen to. I would highly recommend for all age groups, including children, and not an iPad in sight. Lots... More
