Perfect for walking the dogs, exploring the beautiful coast and enjoying spectacular scenery. We camped very close by, there are lots of good places to stay.

This beach is a fantastic piece of nature sculpting at her best. However, the sun glints off the huge array of plastic bags, plastic bottles and other assorted fishing junk which spoils the place. Its such a shame that selfish people cannot clear up after themselves. We should be proud of our lovely countryside, not turning it into a take-away... More

A vast expanse with the pretty village of Abbotsbury nearby for cream teas. There's also the swannery ( bit pricey though) and a collection of art shops and an ancient church to peruse.

This is an amazing beach-miles an miles of beautiful shingle and rocks of all shapes and sizes. Dog friendly too. The biggest downside is the amount of crap left behind by others-beer bottles, fishing lines, bbq's and just about everything else-if people can make the effort to carry it down there at least carry it to the bins :-@ obviously... What a large expanse of lovely beach. Past on way to Portland Bill another wonderful sight and marvellous cream tea.

Nothing there other than watching fishermen and walking, if you like the outdoors and walking its spot on, but there is nothing there at all, take food and picnic, and a jumper.

It's just wonderful. You just cannot believe it's there, even when standing on it. All those little pebbles, for kilometres. We liked to stay there the whole day, but unfortunately hadn't the time. There are some nice places close to the street behind Abbotsbury whre you have an extraordinary view to the beach, the fleet, the and St. Catherine's.

Lovely beach, I now know why people talk about Chesil Beach. Will be visiting it again. It is a pebble beach and really beautiful.

We viewed Chesil beach from a viewing point near to Portland Bill and it was an amazing sight to see.We then drove down to Chesil beach to go on it but decided not to go on it as it was very steep and pebbly.
