Although we have visited Weymouth before, we didn't realise that there was a RSPB reserve so close. It's situated in an unlikely place, with the entrance in the corner of a car park. The staff were very helpful, giving lots of information & a map. They even let my husband borrow some binoculars as he is looking to upgrade from... More

cant believe we found an rspb reserve just behind Weymouth promenade. friendly wardens, good teacakes for a snack, lovely walk round the reserve although it wasn't quite the right time of year for a lot of sightings that day

This RSPB reserve a stones throw from the hustle & bustle of central Weymouth is a haven not just for the birds and wilslife, but for anyone who wants some peace and quiet and the opportunity to see some of the UK's wetland birdlife reasonably close-to. With the advantage of having a huge car park right next door, the entrance... More

We popped here randomly as it was in the car park we parked in to go down to the beach. Didn't do much of it as we spotted it as we were leaving but it looked lovely and the kids enjoyed the ducks.

we found the nature trail purely by accident. the roof of the building is being re-thatched and we wandered across the car park for a progress nosey. there we discovered the nature trail going into the reed ponds. now, im not a 'reader of info boards' type of person and i thought 'oh this is going to be fun(not)' but... A pleasant enough walk on a structured path but a little disappointing as there wasn't an awful lot to see from the viewing points or anywhere else.

I freely admit I'm not into bird watching but still thought this would be a nice place to go with the dog, however, whilst I heard a lot of birds I saw very few and I personally found the tall reeds quite claustrophobic. Not for me but bird enthusiasts would love it.

This is a lovely free of charge walk. We are not bird watchers, but go here every time we visit Weymouth for the peaceful surroundings and lovely coffee shop. I would recommend it for families and couples - we do the whole walk right out to the hide. It would be great if some binoculars could be provided (I understand... More

Close views of Marsh Harrier and more. Very close range Cetti's warbler, lovely views, and a lovely quiet walk around the reserve with just bird songs. Must visit!
