We ended up here by accident, trying to get from point A to point B on foot a little faster, Googlemaps took us through the wetlands. There were lots of little spots to bird watch, and the whole path was clean and well maintained.

Lovely place run by volunteers at the Far side of the Swannery car park. Lovely hut with a small café serving drinks and snacks. Very clean and the volunteers were very informative.

A small hut between the lake and the carpark. It is run by volunteers for the charity. You can get drinks snacks and birdfood inside. Also written info on wild life.

Just returned after a few years. It is pretty good but feeding the ducks and other birds can be a bit scary for young children. Plenty for children to do for an hour around the RSPB building on a sunny day. You can park for up to 2 hours free at the car park near Currys

As RSPB members this reserve would be on out list for any visit to Weymouth. The birds are a great attraction especially the Marsh Harrier. Though with small children along the duck feeding scored highly and the hands on displays in the centre. The highlight were the very friendly staff, well done to you all.

What more could one ask for? Living in Weymouth, I really don't visit as often as I should, but each visit is fantastic! Whether it is seeing Marsh Harriers soaring, spying a Water Rail or discovering Bee Orchids. The staff and volunteers are always incredibly friendly and helpful, ready to point out interesting wildlife. And the Dorset Apply Cake is... More

Not a lot to see other than at the lake at the start of the walks and at the lake near to the hide. Good paths to walk along.

Who would know about the wonderful RSPB reserve in the centre of a busy seaside town. Just a few minutes walk from the crowded beaches you can have a quiet, easy walk and see some rare wildlife at the same time. Just use your senses to smell the flowers, hear the birds and if you have time and patience you... More
