This is an unexpectedly pretty garden with a series of large and small lily ponds set among a profusion of natural shrubs and trees. It makes for a pleasant afternoon stroll along the footpaths that loop around the ponds. Let me explain the "unexpectedly". We have been visiting family in this part of Dorset for many years and driving past... More

Built I believe on the site of old clay works this is a very pretty spot with over 140 different varieties of water lilies in a series of ponds spread over 8 acres. There was still quite a lot of colour despite the end of the season. Plenty of pleasing spots to photograph including the Monet replica bridge. A few... More

This extraordinary sign, with its two glaring mistakes, is in the tropical house through which the visitor walks to get to the main pond and its lovely water lilies display. The "Monet " look-alike bridge is quite picturesque and undoubtedly figures on hundreds of photographs of weddings and civil ceremonies. The main pond areas are well kept; the rest is... More

What an enjoyable relaxing experience. We spent just over an hour wandering and photographing the beautiful gardens and lakes. Followed by a lovely lunch in the cafe which appears to be better than some restaurants we visited. Spotless decor, clean and spacious with excellent food albeit a slightly limited choice. All of the grounds seem to be well looked after... More

We loved the fish in the conservatory they were very friendly. The Apple Yard ducks gave us lots of entertainment. The water lilies were stunning, having visited Monet's garden itself, this was a great option without masses of people trying to look around. The café was very nice with friendly staff. The only negative was that one of our group... More

How lovely. Just outside Weymouth we find this little oasis of lakes with different water lilies. Lovely trees and surroundings. Walk ways all around the lakes, big and small. Lots of dragon flies flying around of all colours. Lovely cafe, and cheap too, the menu looked good, but a tag expensive...ie over £6.00 for a jacket potato!!!! I am glad... More

Having been to Giveny and seen the monet garden i was a bit apprehensive about going here, but wanted to see it. We were greated by a lovely lady. she told us a bit about the gardens. We were free to wonder round. The gardens were lovely. WE really enjoyed our time there and have many lovely photos to remind... More

Very expensive ‘attraction’. Price for senior entrance is £8.25 each. A garden with big ponds. Lilies were pretty, but even walking slowly and taking photographs, we were round in less than half an hour. The ‘nursery’ sells water lilies and was quite scruffy and looked neglected. Didn’t risk having tea in the cafe!

It's hard to believe that such a delightful garden is to be found sandwiched between Weymouth and Chickerell. Once you are immersed within the landscape it's easy to forget that you are so close to a major seaside town. The water gardens are simply stunning and you need to wander around them slowly to savour the planting and appreciate the... More
