Having visited Monet's gardens in France last year, we thought it was time to try our local equivalent here in Dorset. There's lots of good things to say about Bennetts. Smooth grassy paths for easy walking, lots of tranquil pools to stand or sit beside, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. A great place for a picnic or to sit with... More

We went on a rather cold morning in may , Gardens are quite a sight , well looked after, and understand the restaurant / café is very good. Not all the plant were in flower when we visited which was a shame but lots of wild life around, the ponds when the plants are in bloom will be site to... More

Bennetts organised refreshments for a family gathering on the 1st May for 23 people. Their catering was excellent and their care and kindness exemplary. I would not hesitate to go there again for this sort of function. Bennetts water gardens grew out of an old clay pit and redundant brickworks. They have transformed a derelict industrial area into a very... More

Bennetts Water Gardens are well worth seeing, you can easily spend a couple of hours there. Stunning, tranquil and so very relaxing, just to meander around these beautiful water gardens, you can also see plenty of wildlife, we saw the largest Dragonfly we had ever seen!! A must see is the "Monet Bridge" it's simply stunning. Take your camera, it... More

We visited a couple of times, one of those being for our close friends' wedding so obviously I am a little biased! But these gardens are stunning, such a peaceful tranquil and beautiful setting, no time limit so take a book or if you're into painting/drawing bring your resources with you. Plenty of places to sit and take it all... More

Lovely walk around the lily ponds. But a little expensive to get in (around £8) unless you are taking a picnic and going to stay all day.

Beautiful, peaceful area of wooded ponds just outside Weymouth. You'd probably only want to go very occasionally as there's not a great deal to do but an idyllic spot on a nice sunny summers day. I'm into Dragonflies and it's probably the best spot in Weymouth for them with a couple of very rare species present. Went to a friends... More
