Beverly in Yorkshire is a pretty town and one of the city gates still survives. Quaint little shops on pedestrian paved area. Well worth a visit. The minster is not commercialised and you are not charged or hassled merely welcomed to a historic and spiritual building.

A warm welcome from the minute you walk into the Minster, friendly people to ask any questions you may have. A charming shops (better than Ely Cathedral!) and some lovely displays.

It's beautifully light and airy, with helpful volunteers more than willing to talk. There were tours available reasonably priced and a voluntary box for contributions. Also inside the minster was a... The town of Beverley is steeped in history and boasts a rich medieval heritage. Beverley Minster excels in demonstrating the glory of a Gothic Cathedral completed in the 14th century yet still accessible in most of its aspects. While other similar attractions charge fees, the Minster simply recommends a small donation for visitors. Do go in and look around, but... More

Babysitting 4 children(aged 8-13) - thought we'd do the cultural bit with a visit to The Minster on the way to the cinema. The Guide brought history to life and encouraged them to do the quizzes - followed by a trip into the roof. 4 hrs later we'd missed the movie and they needed feeding - otherwise they would have been... Take a Tower trip on May 26th. I did it before in time and I never forgot the view from the top of Beverley Minster. There are many steps, so just go on – it is healthy and you will enjoy the view.
