We attended the Yorkshire Born and Bred course on 7th February 2015. The course was taken by Ali who was an excellent tutor - calm, clear and entertaining in her presentation. The course was to promote your Yorkshire ingredients whilst teaching skills we were a group of eight mixed ability cooks so that was no mean task! We were told... More

This course was bought as a Christmas present and not being anything of a cook, I was a little nervous. The course was Easy Entertaining, Modern British. Superb kitchen, excellent tutor and extremely proud that with little previous skill I was able to produce smoked salmon soufflés, lamb shank and choux pastries. The school has numerous courses and I will... More

I have used this cookery school on a number of occasions and bought a number of vouchers as presents and always found it to be very good. However, my 11 year old son was booked on the children's course and had a bout of sickness the day before he was due to go on the course and I was advised... More

May we start by saying that we were sorry your son could not attend the course we held 10 days ago due to illness and also apologise that due to staff holidays your call was not returned as promptly as we would have liked. Our cancellation Terms and Conditions are sent with the confirmation letter and are clearly available on... More

For those wanting to learn some of those 'I wonder how they do that' skills then this is an excellent starter. The tuition was pitched at the correct level for all those in attendance and it was made clear that there was no such thing as a "daft" question. An excellent day and thoroughly recommended.

The courses are only as good as their teachers as there is not much to look forward to aside from the actual instruction at this rurally located school. I must say I am used to sitting in a dedicated demonstration area and was disappointed that students gather round a table in a rather cramped situation to peer over the saucepans... More

We are obviously saddened to read that you did not fully enjoy your experience at The Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School but note from your letter that you did enjoy the tuition. We regret not explaining that you could use the stools to sit at any point and that the coffee was not to your taste but do wish that you... More

For anyone reading my review 12 months ago - " not quite what it say on the tin" I feel it only right to heap praise upon praise for the Indian Masterclass run by Prett Tejura. Starting with explaining the 'spice wheel', what each spice does, and how to use them the information just kept coming but in a very... More

Buck's Fizz or soft drink on arrival, I came alone and felt a little under dressed, some were obviously more there to socialise than learn , and some were I a larger group. I didn't let that put me off, I was there to see learn and taste the results. We made 3 currys and 2 side dishes, all were... More

I attended the Duke of Edinburgh gold course and thoroughly enjoyed the entire week. The five days were very informative and varied; from a farm tour, butchery skills, knife skills to baking with the lovely Linda. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and I would recommend it to anyone. I arrived as a novice cook and left feeling very confident- Thanks... More

My son today attended the Kids cooking session and enjoyed every moment. There was a very warm welcome from Penny the teacher, and my son could not wait to tell me after the session that Penny was attentive and he felt that he had really learnt alot and had asked loads of questions which were always answered. Value for money,... More
