Whoever buys for the museum shop knows their stuff! A small but inspired collection of gifts, cards and toys that easily beats those boring National Trust gift shops. And don't miss the very interesting museum upstairs.

There are art exhibitions throughout the year where you can see local artists displaying their many talents.such as wood engraving, slatework engraving printwork etc, There is also... More

Not a lot here really. A few drawings, the odd exhibition and a few artefacts. Expensive crafts for sale which don't seem to sell. Most of it was there last year. It is clean and has a feeling of open space about it and perhaps it appeals more to locals than to the tourist.

We visited the heritage day in Bideford and stopped for coffee and cake here. We had a wander round the Gallery, very lovely art works, interesting and attractive objects nicely displayed

Enjoyed the art gallery many times ,it's great . This day we had been enjoying the beautiful park in which the Burton is situated with our grandchildren ,thought we would have some lunch ,asked for a small alteration in the menu for the children as there was no children's menu and the women serving, said ( That's what it is... Walking distance from Bideford Quay and Kinngsley Statue, next to Victoria Park one of the best kept in North Devon. The gallery caters for all tastes and ages, airy light modern building, examples of local pottery, fabrics and paintings. Good cafe, and lovely venue in the summer.

Ideally suited museum(& tourist info) next to the waterfront, large car park & lovely park. A nice area to mooch around. The museum has some interesting exhibits, we enjoyed watching the video showing how local pottery was made.

Utterly ashamed I've never been here before now ! Boy what a treat. 25 years I've lived here and for the first time wandered in on a rainy Saturday . So much to see and so much for the kids to do. I like the attention to the children. Something round every corner tailored for them to do. The staff... More
