Description: Bude Sea Pool is a beautiful tidal swimming pool on the beach at this...
Bude Sea Pool is a beautiful tidal swimming pool on the beach at this popular seaside town in North Cornwall. The Sea Pool is part-natural and partially man-made. It was created in the 1930s under the cliffs on Summerleaze Beach, within easy strolling distance of the town centre, to provide safe bathing in sea water, but away from the dangerous currents in the bay. It is topped up at high tide by the Atlantic Ocean. The spacious Pool provides plenty of room for paddling or serious swimming: inflatables, snorkels surfboards and even scuba divers are welcome – just be considerate of other users, please. The Sea Pool is open throughout the year and is FREE for all to enjoy. Lifeguards are on duty at peak times. Children must be accompanied at the Sea Pool at all times.

This sea pool is well worth a visit. It is a huge pool with lovely views. This made for a great day out and the children enjoyed having the experience of swimming in the sea water without the restrictions placed on them when in the open sea.

Wonderful times swimming in the July wind and rain. Tried swimming in a wetsuit - warm but restrictive. Second time opted for neoprene vest and shorts. Still warm enough but much easier going.

A nice unique pool, but not really any different to swimming in the sea. No lifeguards at pool, but they are around. Body boards were allowed in to float on. Best off going into the sea.

Safe and long enough to plough up and down. Fun to be washed into the pool by the incoming tide. Don't dive in as depths are uneven in parts. People swim in here 24/7, 365 days a year. Try hugging your body board and floating on your back - heaven!

Excellent experience, was a great for all the family. We hired a beach hut as well so we could shelter from the midday sun. Bude is a lovely place and the locals are of the same. Try the Mermaid chip shop for a great lunch or tea time meal by the sea.

A very nice Sea Pool which is well worth visiting but you must go at high tide otherwise it can be quite empty. On a normal summer day it is very cold!

A very safe and fun family attraction, I felt reassured that children were safe and the lifeguard presence was excellent. This is good to visit if your children do not feel confident enough to swim in the sea or if the tide is particularly strong

Clean and huge pool for training. Hope this facility is not taken away as was advised by locals. It is a marvellous facility.

We stopped here quickly o have a look, im very glad we did, it was beautiful, lovely views. Unfortunately we got there a bit late in the day and the weather had changed and was very cold and windy, so no dip in the sea pool for us, this time round anyway. Definately worth a visit.
