Bude Sea Pool is a beautiful tidal swimming pool on the beach at this popular seaside town in North Cornwall. The Sea Pool is part-natural and partially man-made. It was created in the 1930s under the cliffs on Summerleaze Beach, within easy strolling distance of the town centre, to provide safe bathing in sea water, but away from the dangerous currents in the bay. It is topped up at high tide by the Atlantic Ocean. The spacious Pool provides plenty of room for paddling or serious swimming: inflatables, snorkels surfboards and even scuba divers are welcome – just be considerate of other users, please. The Sea Pool is open throughout the year and is FREE for all to enjoy. Lifeguards are on duty at peak times. Children must be accompanied at the Sea Pool at all times.

Great to see a sea pool in the UK. Really big and inviting and would be a fabulous and safe place to swim in summer. I hear it might be closing so join the fight to save it as it is an asset to Bude and England!

Delighted that you enjoyed your visit to the Pool, and thank you for your support. Everyone at FoBSP (the volunteer group which manages the Pool) works really hard to raise funds for it and look after it. So it's wonderful to know that people are enjoying themselves in the Pool!

This is a great leisure pool. We were there in February and the pool is heated to just the right temperature and it is even warm when you get out. The waves are fabulous and it is a lovely size so my boys aged 6 and 9 had a ball and we could easily keep an eye on them.

Want the enjoyment and weather of the sea but the safety of a pool - here it is!! If you have small children you can't do better because they experience the elements in a contained environment with fabulous lifeguards. All parents with small children who like to swim should come to Bude!

Bude Sea pool is funded by local people and is a local treasure. A safe and fun place for swimming especially when the surf. Is pumping (surfing term for BIG).
