I love independent small stores, you find things not in the all the large ones where everything is the same in each store, My friend picked up a lovely pair of slacks for £5, she thought the sign said £5 off the garment, so she was delighted, we spent quite a bit of time here as there were so many... I do love Austins. It's so nice to still see an independent family business, there are far too many chain stores now. Good to see modern labels appearing in the women's clothing section. My only gripe would be some of the staff seem to chat a lot and it is sometimes hard to get there attention. Their website is awful!

A great selection of good quality clothes, some with designer names, I both several polo shirts in the sale. Very helpful staff and well laid out stores. Sadly this is the only good thing you can say about Newton Abbot.

I've been visiting Austen's for many years and I find the four stores well laid out, the staff very pleasant and helpful and usually find what I want. For ladies clothing there is a great selection to choose from. The Pine room is a good venue for lunch and very popular with a good choice. The experience is different to... More

The staff in these stores were so friendly and cheerful. We enquired after some unusual lengths for curtains and the manager of the dept went out of her way to help. We'll be placing the order very soon.

One of the best department stores you can get. Spacious and plenty of air not to much bustle and plenty of knowledgeable staff. Hope we can manage to keep places like this. Use it or lose it.

This is a fantastic department store spread over 4? Stores in Newton Abbot. I ALWAYS manage to find here what I can't in larger department stores in Manchester or Glasgow, in clothes or for the home. The restaurant/cafe upstairs serves the best cheese scones in the world and unfortunately I only get to visit once or twice a year as... More
