Role back the years, so much history here. The choice of local cider is vast, be careful they taste great and easy to drink but make sure you have a taxi booked. Strong kick to all pints, i suggest stick half pints and try lots.

We are regulars at the Cider Bar and whilst its not all sparkly and pristine, it offers a unique view of real Devon life. It attracts guests from the full spectrum of Newton Abbot and beyond and the place is richer for it. This, along with the Teign Cellars, is a great places and within a few yards of each... More

One of the last true Cider Bars left! Worth a visit if you like cider- no beers or lagers in sight. Friendly atmosphere and staff x

Having been a regular for 50 years its time to give a little advice! This place hasnt really changed at all and the atmosphere is unique provided you go when its not empty or too full i.e.Thurs/fri possibly better or early Sat eve. A great range of ciders and country wines but be careful as some are deceptively strong and... More

This, on the outside looks a very plain building but on the inside it is a thriving atmospheric authentic cider bar. Don't go in looking for beer as you won't find any. Hundreds of ciders are on offer and a few perries. Also, lots of different exotic country wines. Looks really old inside and very plainly furnished which just adds... More

Returned to the cider bar in Newton Abbott, what a fantastic pub, great ciders and wines, very friendly staff and the best cheese and ham crusty rolls ever, if you're in Newton Abbott it's a must .

Cider or cyder houses used to be common place in the uk, unfortunately Ye Olde Cider Bar (to give it it's correct title) is one of only four left. Currently it is up for sale or lease & what it needs is a good old fashioned landlord to take it on and preserve it as it should be. None of... More
