Was on a five day holiday at Torquay and decided a visit to Newton Abbot for the day. I did a little research on the net and found The Cider Bar which made me salivating "Love Cider". This is a great place to spend some free time; the place is full of character, and local characters with their wonderful local... More

Cider only served here but many different varieties. Friendly welcome and a charming old world atmosphere. Watch out for the strength of some of the ciders!

A variety of ciders and wines, with the atmosphere of a traditional bar / pub. Everyone was having a great time, but be careful some of those jars can make you VERY drunk.

Selling an extensive range of wines and ciders, a no thrills bar, but with lots of character, bought some wines and cider to take home too., well worth a visit!

Selling only cider and coolers this didn't at first appeal but once inside it's something else. Not smart but full of character , both the bar and the locals. Do watch the strength of the ciders though, especially the cloudy ones. The locals favourite appeared to be one named Diesel ! A proper pub.

If you live in Devon, then you should like cider and if you like cider then you will love the cider bar. The cider is all from oak casks stood behind the bar and is always in first class condition, but I do suggest you take a close friend with you, to look after you. Very strong ciders and cheap... The closed doors may be a little off-putting to the casual visitor, but you are assured a friendly welcome by staff and customers. Very little has changed in this cider house over the last 50 years and hopefully it will remain the same for the next 50. Sam's Medium and Sam's Dry from Winkleigh Cider served from wooden barrels. Great... More

Maybe it has seen better times, but we liked every feature of this place. The appearance, inside and out. The character, staff and selection of cider. The period and idiosyncratic mannerisms and approach of the staff and the enthusiasm of the customers. If you can get someone else to drive or even come by train then it is easily worth... More

Hubby is a cider boy so was intrigued to have this pop up on TripAdvisor when we were in the area for the weekend. A good old fashioned down to earth no airs and graces sort of place. If you like cider and a good Craic then get yourself down here. Just keep away from the Cheddar Valley Diesel!! It's... More

This is a proper Pub/Bar, it's a shame but there aren't many left, as with everything in the UK these days, it's all about profits and having an amazing time, being entertained, the best facilities, look at Football, the atmosphere in the stadiums is bland and suppressed just like the supporters, the sooner terracing is back the better!! ( we... More
