Living in Newcastle, we were able to watch the Sage being built. At first, it looked like the structure for a rollercoaster. Now it is a fine centre of entertainment. We had previously had coffee and a snack in the cafe and I had the pleasure of dining in the bistro with a writer friend. On this visit, we attended... More

I look forward to my visits to the Sage. As a regular attendee at live rock concerts the Sage is my favourite venue on Tyneside. Fantastic acoustics in hall one and comfortable seats as well. Hall two being a lot smaller gives the atmosphere of a good rock party with friends. A visit is highly recommended and I am looking... More

The Sage is a must for anyone who appreciates music performance. Whether you pay for a concert in one of the two halls, take part in a workshop or just pop in for food in the concourse cafe to listen to the free live music, you can truly appreciate this magnificent venue. I have attended events in all the performance... More

The Sage is a very striking building that looks great in the urban landscape during the day, and even better at night next to the Millennium Bridge. The acoustics in Hall One are fabulous, and the cafe and bars have always been fine with friendly staff when I have visited.

Over the years we have had the good fortune to visit the Sage Gateshead for many different reasons. My sons sang in the FANTASTIC Quay Lads choir. They had wonderful experiences singing and performing all over the country - including trips to London's Royal Festival Hall. One of my boys also played in the Junior Orchestra which he loved. So... I visited to listen to a guitarist play his set and the atmosphere was fabulous. There are plenty of seats and even though we were at a higher level the sound and view was still perfect. The building itself if impressive, very clean and modern. The staff are all friendly and helpful, if there is someone playing who you'd be... More

This stunning building opposite the Quayside is beautiful and interesting both night and day. We wandered in to see if we could go to any performances during our brief stay in Newcastle. No luck but the lady at the ticket office couldn't have been friendlier. She then suggested we do a tour of this theatre and rang for a guide... More

To be honest we only went into the foyer as we were en route elsewhere, but it is an iconic building so take a look if you get the chance. The interior is very light, spacious, modern. Cafe and public loos on ground floor.
