I personally love this environment, at times I go there to have a walk despite the fact i do not live in gateshead. The settings in the park was second to none. I love it

This park is great and just what you need for that Sunday afternoon walk. The grounds are large and very well kept. There's plenty for kids to do apart from running around on the grass, kicking a ball etc. There's a boating lake, play parks oh yes and ice cream. The old Hall has a cafe and hosts events too.... Saltwell park is a fantastic park. I have been coming here for over 20 years and now bring my own daughter who equally loves it. There's so much to do to keep kids entertained and go wild with overactive imaginations. If you go to the rose gardens at the top and take some nuts the squirrels will come right upto... More

Plenty to do would be nice to take a picnic just need the weather. Parks can get very busy in summer period and could do with more toilet facilities and a sandwich bar perhaps with soft drinks. The cafe in main building has poor selection not alot of options.

A great family day out. There is loads to do here, even on chilly Winter's days the kids will love it. We went with Frisbee, football and picnic and spent a whole day in the Summer. On colder days you can still have a great time. There is a Thomas road train (which you have to pay for) and a... More
