I think the park keepers form Newcastle should take a trip across the water and see what can be done with a park. Well worth a visit and the cheesy chips were lush

Always had a soft spot for Saltwell Park, it was a treat to go as a child as I didn't live near gateshead. It's great now, nice play areas flower beds, walks, pedalos, the Japanese garden. There's something for all seasons too, it's lovely when the skeleton trees get iced in the winter. Just a lovely park.

I have been going to this park ever since I was a child. Always been a great do out. So much to do. Very enjoyable for the kids or if you fancy going for a stroll.

My family and friends are regular visitors to Saltwell Park and we always have a wonderful day! There is so much to do and plenty to keep the children entertained. My littles ones love to have a play in the park, followed by a picnic, then either feed the ducks or have a trip round the park on the little... More

Arrived mid afternoon at Saltwell Park's Bewicks Cafe. The afternoon had suffered with rain until 2pm but when we arrived the sun was shining. Decided to have coffee and scones and sit outside on the veranda which has bright new metal furniture. Inside the cafe the food options and presentation was excellent, sensed this was not a council run cafe.... More

This park is excellent for any garden enthusiast, I particularly like the rose garden. This is a lovely quiet area if you just want to sit and read a book or take in the natural sent of all the different kinds of roses. It was lovely seeing families on the grass near the lake having picnics or having a boat... More

This park is lovely and so well kept. We took our 3 year old here for a ride on her bike, but there was a lot more to see than we expected. The train ride was cool, and the play park! Also next time we will be sure to take a bag of monkey nuts for the squirrels. They were... More
