Visit for a great shopping experience. You can drive direct as there are plenty of parking spaces though at weekends especially, they fill up early on. Geordies are early shoppers! There is also a speedy shuttle bus to and from Newcastle city centre to the Metro Centre, very reasonably priced. Plenty of choice for food and comfort breaks.

A huge shopping mall with every conceivable type of shop and restaurant. We were amazed that we had over six hours there. Definitely worth a visit

Regardless of which sources you believe, The MetroCentre is one of the three biggest shopping centres in the UK by leasable retail area. More impressively, it boasts the most individual retail outlets (340) of any UK shopping centre. Personally, I think having a greater variety of establishments is much more important than boasting fewer massive shops which is why I... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our shopping trip here! There is something for everyone, free parking also! Lots and lots of places to eat inside and out. The only bad points were it was quite warm inside and the queues were terrible, but to be expected in late December. Will def re-visit.

Went here one evening whilst working in the Area. Traffic situation is a bit confusing to get in and out, but this could have been due to the large roadworks in the surrounding area. The car parking in the multi story was free, which is nice compared to some other towns etc. My overall impression was that it is a... More

As the title states, this review does not reflect the Metro Centre but the Waterstones in the centre. Specifically the cafe within Waterstones. My partner and I visited today and as much as we like the book shop itself, which is clean, modern and bright, it was the cafe which really let it down. We decided to try the cafe... More

We come to the Metrocentre at this time of year every year and we have never experienced traffic problems like what we did on Saturday before. It took us about an hour and a half to get parked after leaving the A1. It was pure grid lock, absolute madness. The traffic lights were changing to green, but no one could... More

My tip is to always set aside a full day to explore and enjoy the Metrocentre! With the train to ride on, numerous shops, a huge cinema, a stay and play area and much more, the whole family can be entertained for an entire day and you can still come away having not made it round the whole mall! There's... More
