The cafe had very reasonable prices. We paid around £12 for two bowls of delicious homemade soup and roll, plus two jacket potatoes with generous portion of tuna mayo topping.... More

I love Libraries, and Gateshead's is great. Nice and modern with a great range of books. Also have DVS and CD with some great offers on them. Latest releases too for only £2.50 per night or over the weekend. They really try and engage with the local community too running events, not just book and history based, but on different... More

I wanted somewhere quiet to read, I found it to be a bit noisy, the quiet/study room was closed for decorating, I spoke to a member of staff who, very kindly unlocked a meeting room for my personal use.Hot and cold drinks served in cafe along with tasty snacks, sandwiches, soup, quiche and jacket potatoes. Prices very reasonable, and cafe... More

Often pop in for lunch and coffee during dinner break, prices are very good and always a choice of toasties, soup, sandwiches and cakes etc. Very popular and always quite busy, but service good and friendly, free parking which is always a plus.

Nice library, cafe, information centre and arts venue. It's quite far from the centre of Gateshead so I wouldn't bother if you were only visiting for the weekend unless you were stopping on route to the Shipley museum or Saltwell Park.
