The Gateshead Millenium Bridge is a must for all engineers travelling in the North of England. It is right next to the Sage and the two can be visited within one hour.

You may be 'abit' seasick but it is amazing looking out at the water and seeing all the boats! Also the sage is very near by! Only a few minutes! If your in that area have a quick look, very good!

Good stretch of the legs joining Newcastle and Gateshead, good views of the bridges. Handy for quayside bars etc.

brilliant piece of engineering, fascinating to see it tilt. Good that it had different lanes for cycles

When it is lit up and colourful this bridge looks amazing. It gives a great link between Gateshead and Newcastle - but beware as on one side you can see through the bridge to the river (not for those who may be a little scared) =. the other walkway however is fine and you will not see the river.

A great demonstration of the fact that good engineering can be very elegant as well as practical. The curved shape makes a good counterpart to the curves of the Sage auditorium nearby. Looks great at night when floodlit.
