I just think the whole technology used to create this bridge is cool as my grandson would say. The lights on the bridge change and illuminates to create an attractive rainbow like picture. The bridge has an easy and safe feeling of use to cross north to south quays making accesibilty to Sage on one side and the 'Toon' on... More

We were lucky enough to see the bridge open for passing boat. The bridge which is counter weighted and an incredible shape, lifted and turned in a one smooth movement. Incredible feat of engineering

As bridges go, this one is most excellent. Glance left and you'll see the glorious Tyne Bridge and right to see the Rank/Hovis Baltic Flour Mill ... unless you are crossing from Gateshead when it's the other way around. Top Tip... politely ask lycra wearing cyclists to dismount and push their cycles and you will be met with met with... More

We were in Newcastle last week and had a walk on the Quayside with the bridges. This one doesn't look special during the day but in the evening on the way to a restaurant to eat we saw it again when it was changing colours. That was pretty cool to see,

What a treat to see this bridge at night. The fluctuating multi colours of its lighting are a treat to behold.

Leaving a review for a bridge seems a little bizzare but this bridge is very unique. The design and how it operates is amazing. Looks lovely lit up at night, could do with a clean but who's complaining.

Bizarrely, I have wanted to walk this bridge for some time. I was surprised by the sheer scale of it. Good to have separate cycle way. Great views from the Middle of the other Tyne bridges...especially when I returned at dusk. Worth a walk.

This, I believe, is the only bridge in the world that opens in the way it does and at night time, the bridge is lit up in different colours, which is quite spectacular.

It's a beautiful bridge. It looks magnificent lit up at night. The view of it from the Sage is the best. The walk across it is nice as long as it's not cold windy January day.... and hen watching the eyelid open is an experience. Just love this bridge.
