Gorgeous lit up at night - very romantic! Excellent link for getting across the Tyne if you are visiting the Sage or Baltic on the Gateshead side or the Quayside on the Newcastle side. Very clever engineering

This is a stunning bridge by day and by night it lights up with changing colours it's ingenious the way it lifts to let boats under it is a magnificent asset to the river tyne. A must if visiting Newcastle. 5/5

With a great view from the Baltic we were lucky enough o see the bridge open. It only takes 4 minutes to fully open but it underlines the amazing engineering. It's good to walk over too.

A magnificent structure that will certainly get you over the river. Still, there's much to be gained from just sitting nearby and watching it in action, especially as it tilts to let river traffic through.

The concept is great, and it has been advised for pedestrians and cyclists. You can also sit on a bench on the bridge and admire all the Newcastle bridges in line. Make sure you walk on it at night as the bridge displays multi-coloured lights.

Marvel of engineering even if it is a bit of an overthinking the problem kind of solution. Part of what makes the Quayside iconic and great if you can see it tilt.

The latest bridge to join the quayside. Great to sit down and relax. Easy access to both newcastle and gateshead. Pedestrians and cycles only.

Definitely take a trip down the Quayside and see all the bridges lit up. An amazing sight. The Millennium Bridge being the most accessible and colourful.
