Interesting and graceful modern foot bridge across the Tyne. Check on line for times when it is going to "blink"

The bridge is just a bridge to walk/cycle over. if you are on the cycle path side then you can look down and see the tyne river below and there are also benches that you can sit and eat, people watch or just relax on. It is quite a long bridge, but it is a magnificent sight when it tips... More

we managed to visit the bridge when it tilted - drew a small crowd of tourists that seemed amazed - the guy that works the bridge was funny with his warning over the p.a. system to advise people to get off the bridge

Great views. Nice area. Be there at midday to see it in action. Also within easy reach of the Baltic arts centre

not just an engineering feat, a beautiful piece of art. The bridge provides a superb vantage point to view all aspects of river life and takes you from the art life on one side of the river to bustling city life on the other.

A must-see if you come to Newcastle-Gateshead, the Millennium Bridge was the first bridge in the world to 'blink'. Walk over towards the Baltic or Newcastle Quayside. Stop halfway and take your photos towards the Tyne Bridge - great Facebook profile pics to be had! The bridge is lit up at night, with colours changing every few minutes - a... More
