It is so easy now to cross over from Newcastle to Gateshead and on a fine day there are excellent views of the riverside. There is a good Quayside bus service which runs between Gateshead station and Central Station in Newcastle, going past the Sage and up to the Monument. Very convenient when sightseeing!

The Millennium Bridge linking Gateshead to the city of Newcastle is a definite 'must see' for any visitor to the city. It is a tremendous attraction, displaying great engineering and it is well worth trying to be there when the bridge lifts to allow vessels to pass beneath it. One can have a lovely walk across it and from the... More

We love the new fresh take on the draw bridge style. Great way to cross the river via quayside! We as a couple agreed that the bridge and the surrounding area would be nicer to visit on a warm day during spring or summer instead of winter.

Just been over the bridge with 2 mates on our bikes. Yes you are allowed to ride a bike over in the correct lane. Exhilerating views of the Tyne and all the other bridges along with the Sage and the Baltic. The (EYE) is convenient for access to both venues from Newcastle and is very pleasant to walk across, no... More

We live in Newcastle and no matter how often we walk past we never tire of seeing the beauty of the bridge in the different phases of the day. This time we were staying in a Bridge View Room within Mal Maison (a different story) and, against an early Spring sky, the Bridge was reflected beneath in glass smooth waters... More

Got some pretty photos of the bridge illuminated at night. The bridge tilts at pre-arranged times - but unfortunately this didn't happen when I was in Newcastle.
