The Speyside Heather Center has always been our routine stop when we leave Glasgow airport. We love the warm welcome we receive and my husband enjoys the Clootie dumplings so much that he always makes this stop a priority just so he can satisfy that craving. Last trip I purchased some wonderful Heather seeds that did remakably well in our... More

My husband and I were staying in the Highlands recently, and made our regular visit to the Speyside Centre to buy some bird food and look for some presents to take home. We really cannot understand why some people have chosen to give them a 'nasty' review. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming, and they sell a really good... More

We regularly visit Speyside Centre with my husband. Our last visit was last week and we were very pleasantly surprised to see all the changes to the tearoom, the new flooring looks great, food is guaranteed to be super tasty, there's always a great variety of soups to choose from. We noticed new clothing range in the shop, the staff... More

My friend and I recently visited the Heather Centre and as usual we were given a very warm welcome. The shop is full of very unusual affordable bits and pieces I didn't see any tack at all. There were some beautiful framed photographs of local views very reasonably priced. We also went to the restaurant where we sampled some of... More

This is a truely horrible visitor centre. and I am amazed so many coaches visit. It is shabby and old fashioned. The shop sells nothing but hideous antiques or scottish themed tat that you really won't want. The whole place always seems to stink of cabbage too. The garden centre part is also horrid. Please don't bother visiting this place,... More

We've been to Speyside Heather many times over the years we have been visiting Scotland and have seen it decline in recent years. The decor is, although traditional, much in need of a facelift as it is looking quite tired. Staff remain friendly and helpful. We think that the place is very much geared towards coach tours for elderly people.... More

Bought some heathers for our garden, fantastic selection, which I thought were great value for money. Some of the other plants looked a little worse for wear though. Decided to have a coffee, not overly impressed with selection (or lack of) snacks, or quality of coffe. Staff all very friendly & helpful. 4 star is for selection of heathers.

Nice garden centre with a good sized shop as well. They have a squirrel and bird watching area and if your lucky you may spot a red squirrel, if your there early enough. The gallery had lots of nice local artists paintings for sale. We ate in the clootie dumpling restaurant, this was a major dissapointment, food was very over... More

After husband raving about the soup decided to give it a go! I am not a soup person but it was good. Kids had macaroni cheese which they loved. Didn't really bother looking at shop as not really our cup of tea!

I first heard about the heather centre and the clootie dumplings a couple of years ago and had been really looking forward to going. I left very disappointed!! We went into the cafe and ordered macaroni cheese with chips and 2 clootie dumplings. We were asked if we wanted the main first then the pudding, to which we said yes.... More
