just watching Ernie playing with the clay and ending up with a plate or Mug in its raw form. The displays are just wonderful. Ask Karen any question on the Potteries and she will tell you a tale. Well worth the entrance fee.

This place just has to been seen to be believed! It is not what we were expecting at all! I think all the previous reviews have just about covered everything, except what a feast for the senses this living museum is! Sights, sounds and smells of days gone by. The staff are so dedicated and Ernie is loved and revered... More

If you have never visited before, be prepared for a surprise! This is a great collection of allsorts, mostly maritime based. And is housed in an old herring smoke actually built using the wood recovered from shipwrecks built into the historic Town walls. And if that isn't enough to entice you, the owner (Ernie, a very pleasant chap) is an... More

This is the hidden gem of Yarmouth. We walked in and immediately felt like we had entered a pirates treasure trove, the place is steeped in history and beautiful artefacts of the sea. My friend and I went there for a pottery course and have fallen in love with the place, we are going back to experience the other courses.... More

This place was very interesting! The staff were very friendly and the museum was very interesting with all the artefacts and the way the building was made out of old ship parts. Me and my partner loved making our clay mug and vase. Ernie was great. Recommend this to anyone. So much fun and great memories. Go ahead and book!!!!

This place is amazing, my husband and I brought our two children here to throw a pot as a treat. The girls loved it and we all came away with a hand made little treasure. Ernie was fantastic with the kids and adults and with his wife made us feel very at home, we had a lovely cuppa out in... More

Me and my partner went with our 2 children yesterday and we loved it! It's a small museum but there's a lot to see! My 3 year old daughter had to find all the little fish that were hidden away and she won a lollipop which was cute :-) the gift shop is nice and cheap with lots of unique... More

While the Time and Tide museum across the road has won the awards, for character and atmosphere, this is Great Yarmouth's unbeatable attraction. It's an extraordinary collection of maritime bric - a brac, pottery, art gallery and who-knows-what-else. Another reviewer described it as 'a bit of a mess', which seems to me to have completely missed the point. The chaos... More

Nowhere like it, nobody like Ernie! Always take our visitors there who all adore the place--and Ernie of course. Who says Yarmouth is faceless?? Get along to The Potteries and experience something different --run by such enthusiasts.
