This is well worth a visit, all the staff gave a good summary of the place and as this was visited on our last day in Yarmouth it gave a nice end to our week there

I have lived in Great Yarmouth all my life and have never visited the smokehouse and potteries before, it was absolutely fantastic, Ernie and Karen made you feel like you were part of the family and they have so many interesting things to tell and show you, fantastic for all ages. I even had a go on the potters wheel... More

Had an absolutely fantastic time at the potteries. Very informative and a lot of fun, especially having a go on the potters wheel! Ernie and Karen are wonderful, welcoming people with an expansive knowledge of history of the smokehouse. Well worth a visit!

Ernie and Karen are very approachable and only too happy to share their knowledge and stories. I'm not a great fan of 'sterile' museums so was delighted... More

You are welcome to wander around, take pictures and generally make yourself at home. Dont forget to buy Ernie's herring cookbook before you... More

Not being a pottery fan I was prepared to give this a miss, but I'm so glad I was persuaded to go. This unusual building was quirky when it was built and is still quirky thanks to the current slightly eccentric owners who are mines of information about the own's history and this place in particular. The pottery is a... More

Interesting local history combined with local artistry. The Pottery run by local artist and his wife, offers art classes and pottery classes. A friendly couple happy to impart local knowledge of this historical site (built into the medieval wall) and answer -questions, ably assisted by local staff also on hand to guide you through the buildings with even more interesting...
