A most amazing building. The staff were very friendly, helpful and certainly know the history of the building. Highly recommended.

We went to the potteries as a last minute idea, and so pleased we did,Ernie and the girls are fantastic. My daughter(Laura) and eleven year old grandson(Jack) made pots with Ernie,s fun and amusing guidance,we then had refreshments before touring the potteries with a qiuz sheet suitable for my grandson.Having visited all the attractions in Yarmouth over the years I never thought... We recently visited the Great Yarmouth Pottery. The building is an old Herring smoke house, made completely out of timber found on the beach from old shipwrecks. Once inside the door, the entrance is imposing and is filled with pictures painted by Ernie Childs. You could happily spend an hour here before even going in the museum proper.. Once we... More

It was interesting to learn some of the history of the area, with photos of how hard life was when you had to work or go hungry. Staff were on hand to answer any questions in a friendly manner which caused more questions. You could spend quite some time there if you were working on a project. Good for youngsters.

My Friend andI visited the Great Yarmouth Pottery and old Smokehouse and we we amazed by how much there was to see and do. Eric was such a charming and talented man. My husband and I went there last week to have a go at the pottery wheel and were glad we did. We had a lot of fun and produced a jug each to take home. It was great and so was the museum. Lots of local knowledge that we were not aware of before. It's like stepping back in time... More

What a little delight. This is a great place to visit. All the staff were very welcoming and passionate. Good insight to this town. It's amazing how long this building is still up as it is made from ship wrecks. They have thought about kids too with a little quest. I'm happy to pay for something with heritage.

Took my neice this week while trying to entertain her during the school holidays and such a find. Had a Groupon voucher offer and took a chance and so glad we did. Niece has not stopped talking about it (she is 10) and wants to bring all her friends for a visit. We parked on the long stay car park... More
