Alighting from the railway station you might be forgiven for thinking that the elegant spire head of you is the minster. Wrong. The spire is the remains of an old chapel near the Piece Hall. The minster is the sooty little parish church down the rise to the right of you. A more unprepossessing minster it would be hard to... More

Very interesting to look around and more should be advertised about it. Just a pity it is at the bottom end of the town and I think this puts people off. Didn,t go up the tower but it is possible to sometimes and there are guided tours sometimes.

A beautiful church that's very lovely. Must have nice history. Been there for funeral and Christmas service, I do think they purposely set butterflies out to make it look as if the person is there but I find it quite rude almost that they're making people believe that. Apart from that nice but could do with a warm up!

A 900 yr old church with lots of fascinating history. The stewards were very friendly and knowledgeable, it was so interesting . Part of Halifax's history it is a must to see.

Stunning church with exquisite stained glass windows. I attended a morning family communion service with integrated Christening. All stewards and officials were warm and welcoming and the officiating clergy were friendly and had a modern outlook. Great occasion.

I have kept saying I wanted to visit the minster since we moved here a few years ago but never did. Last week I was able to spend half an hour there in the company of a really well informed guide. The minster was much better than I could have imagined and its history is fascinating. I am now aware... More

Halifax minster goes back many centuries. On the walls of the church inside, there's inscriptions recording the lives of Haligonians hundreds of years ago, which is touching by itself. The building's interior is expansive, made all the more beautiful by the painted glass artwork. There's a small shop which offers religious items aswell as postcards, books and DVDs about Halifax...
