The place was run down & lots of shops are closed. It needs a different use to keep this place viable & not a drain on every bodies money.

Having been born and living in Halifax all my life, you would be excused for thinking that a building i have known and visited on many occasions would become mundane and too familiar to me, but the Halifax Piece Hall never ceases to amaze as i walk around it. It was built in the seventeen hundreds for the local cotton... More

Piece Hall used to be a regular visit for my wife and I whenever we were back in Halifax so we have missed it since its closure for refurb. There was a chance that the refurb might not take place and this icon of Yorkshire's industrial past may even have disappeared in favour of yet another supermarket or block of... More

Any visit to Halifax and surrounding area should include a visit to The piece Hall ,the odlest of the mill buildings . At present it is closed and undergoing a renewal ,BUT it is a must ! the architecture alone is something to admire. Inside used to be two floors of local crafts and shops with entertainment in the central... More

The Piece Hall is currently undergoing a major renovation programme and is surrounded by scaffolding and boards so is not accessible or visible. It is due to re open in 2016 so keep an eye on the website. It is destined to be a prime visitor attraction so should be well worth a visit when renovations are completed.

This is a beautiful building with lots of interesting and unique shops. Building works have been a problem but well worth a visit. Near to the ralway station and car parks it is handy for all travelers but the cobbles can be a bit of a problem. Walk around the covered area and then stand in the middle for a... More

I was delighted to see that work is in full swing and hope that when I come back to Halifax next year I will be able to get in and really see this wonderful place. I was also delighted to learn that the Halifax Library & Archive is going to be installed between Piece Hall and the Square Church.
