I don't understand some of these reviews. In May 2014 the place was shut completely in preparation for a major restoration and I was very disappointed not to be able to enter. I was told by someone living opposite one of the entrances that it had been closed for some while. I could only photograph the exterior which was worth... More

It's an interesting place; has arty shops, albeit pricy, but it is a good space to use for events; attended the food and drink festival there in 2013...it doesn't appear to be used to host events a great deal, but I could be wrong. Perfect if you want to shop for unique gifts

This is a real gem in Halifax; the architecture is really impressive and is testament to the importance of the wool trade in the past. Well worth a visit; the staff in the visitor centre were really helpful and knew so much.

i really enjoyed the ground level cafe and the friendly staff. the building its self is a fantastic structure and should be made better use of. most shops are empty and there is no longer a market. i understand some major refurbishment is under way so hopeful new life will be driving into the place for a more positive future.

This used to be a great place to chill out and shop. Now, there is hardly anything there and nothing much happens. When i was younger it was full of quirky and interesting shops but now there's hardly anything open. It is so tragic as it is such an historic beauty. I think the council are to blame for destroying... More

Whilst working in Halifax, I really enjoyed nipping down to the Piece Hall for lunch. It's a nice spot to sit in the sun and read the paper. Could be improved by removing all the other people, but then again, what couldn't?

Whilst it is true that the peace hall in halifax is a very good place to relax on a hot summers day, it is far from great!!!! For too many year's the shop spaces have been shabby and the rent has been immensely over priced by the local council, (nothing more than greed!!!!) As a result the shop's that are... More

The Piece Hall is one of the best places to go and read a book in the summer or just hang out with friends when it's sunny. They have an excellent range of shops my favourite being Sweet Memories. The only issue I have is the events they put on during summer. In 2011 and 2012 they hosted Gay Pride... More

I visit the Piece Hall regularly being local. As far as history is concerned it is well worth a visit being the last complete remaining cloth hall in the area. There is a good visitor centre that hosts art exhibitions in the gallery (many local exhibitions) and the staff are well informed friendly and helpful and will tell you all... More

The Piece Hall is unique. It's architecture is stunning and the restoration which will close it for a year or more starting in January 2014 should result in a venue much better used than it has been of late.
