Been coming here for a few years but seems to have lost something in the last couple of years. The cafe refurbishment was a let down and the focus is all on the overpriced cafe and shop rather than seeing birds, with less scopes which now are less flexible for viewing the area.

On a bright spring day, this was a fantastic family day out.
The reserve is well signposted from the M9, has good parking and a very reasonable entrance fee (£3 for adults, 50p for kids). For a small deposit, you can hire explorer rucksacks for children containing good quality binoculars, a mini beast magnification pot, bird and beastie spotter charts...
