They let us book even though the season hadn't officially started. The weather didn't look promising, but there is an inside cabin, or you could watch from a covered outside deck, or even on the top deck. We were sailed expertly out so had an easy trip, then got right close up to the fantastic cliffs on the Noop of... More

We had booked for later in the week, but when a sunny Sunday morning appeared we switched our plans. The staff was very accommodating about the change. The crew was knowledgable about the local wildlife and had print resources available as well. We also enjoyed seeing the underwater creature on the camera. The scenery was also outstanding. They even served... More

This was a really good boat tour. Dunter is well fitted out and comfortable and the trip made more enjoyable by skipper Tom's spiel and crew Ian's coffee making ability. The underwater camera was a neat extra as was Ian's calling up of Skuas. Mooring under the cliffs where gannets nested was also an experience.

I go every year, and a day out on the Dunter is always unique.Dr Jonathan Wills, the skipper, and Shetland author/expert, is incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable. The boat comes in under the gannetries of the island of Noss, a special nature reserve, and if you are lucky you will be treated not just to puffins, guillemots, gannets and eiders (to... More

We went on a Transatlantic Cruise on the Caribbean Princess in Aug-Sep 2013. Because of poor weather condition in the North Seas while we docked in Bergen, Norway, the captain decided to skip the ports of call in Lerwick, Shetland Islands and Torshavn, Faroe Islands. We later learnt that skipping ports of call on North Atlantic crossings are actually quite... More

Brilliant informative tour. The highlight occurred when the skipper and his mate, dropped anchor in a little bay, took the rib and rowed off to rescue a lamb which had become stranded on the shore. Manhandled the lamb (safely) into the rib rowed back to the boat, stuffed the lamb in the toilet for safekeeping and we continued on our... More

Dr Jon. was having a day off (well deserved no doubt) but he need not have worried Tom and Chris looked after everything an absolute treat. Welcome and safety words dealt with - off we went. Trip was adjusted due to sea conditions but made not one jot of difference, almost immediately off and on shore an otter was spotted,... More

We stayed two extra hours on the boat in order to watch a group of killer whales, which was a real treat! A great experience!

We had a few hours to spend at Shetland Isles, Lerwick. We had seen on Tripadvisor: Nature was the key - get out and see it. We were lucky to get a tour with the Cruise around Noss. We were picked up at Victoria Pier, the boat was delayed, but they were good enough to come from the local tourist... More
