I love doing the Seabirds and Seals trips. The crew are so knowledgeable and make the trip fascinating and informative. Both times I've been out I've had different, yet both amazing, experiences. The underwater camera is really cool and I LOVE hearing and seeing the Noss Gannets :) Only *downside* is that the *Noss Cafe* needs a bigger variety of... More

This was a great tour! I did get quite seasick but it was more due to my susceptibility than any deficiency in the boat piloting. The other members of the tour were completely fine. We saw lots of seals, absolutely staggering amounts of seabirds, and even an elusive otter. Many thanks to the crew for taking care of me and... More

Despite living most of my 50+ years in Shetland, today, (25 July 2012) I finally took the Seabirds and Seals trip around Bressay and Noss. I don't know why I waited till now. What a fantastic experience..!!! The skipper, Tom and crewman Iain did everything possible to ensure we had a safe, informative and an entirely unforgettable trip. If you're... More

If there's one good thing about bad weather, it's that the animals and birds can't see you coming. We saw plenty of seals (grey and common) - as promised - and loads of seabirds. There is nothing like seeing Gannets flying along side the boat, emerging out of the mist before diving and some Bonxies were practically stealing ginger nuts... More

We spend nearly three and a half hours on the trip and had a really great time. Neither my husband or I know much about birds but were well informed by Jonathan and Ian (who kept an eagle eyed look out for anything of interest). The boat is well equipped with a warm cabin if you get chilly, a toilet... More

Myself and a friend did this trip as part of a tour with 'Shetland Wildlife' and it was absolutely brilliant! We had high expectations as the whole trip up to this point had been so good, and it didn't disappoint! Jonathan the skipper was extremely knowledgeable as well as personable, as was the crew member on the boat - ready... More

This was a highlight of our 2 week long holiday in the Shetland Isles, our trip aboard the Dunter 3 was a really wonderful experience, we saw so much. Even though the sea was rough and the weather wasn't too good the crew expertly manouvered the boat to vantage points round the islands that we never would have dreamt of... More

Following the rave reviews on TA, I booked this tour in advance of leaving for the Shetland Islands. I wasn't disappointed, a packed three hours tour aboard the Dunter III boat. The staff could not have been more helpful, providing spare binoculars, making sure unusual wildlife were pointed out, explaining things in detail and generally making sure everyone had a... More

This is a brilliant trip. The wildlife is superb, the owners are knowledgeable and their love for the place shines out. I don't know if they still do it, but one of the guys used to throw ginger biscuits to a tame (well sort of tame) bonxie (great skua) which would catch them out of the air. Well worth the... More

This is absolutely a must do if you have any interest in geology and birdlife/wildlife in Shetland! And even if you're not - then you should go on this trip to see what you're missing!!! The boat itself is well-equipped, with a warmed salon to get out of the elements, with ample viewing space outside the salon and the viewing... More
