This was one of the highlights of our visit to the Shetlands. The time just slipped away as the wonders of the area unfolded. From the sight of the Great Skua following the boat to the views of the sea bed it was a magical experience. Sea life and rock formations were explained by out guide, Ian, and everything was... We went on a 3 hour tour of Bressay and Noss. Greeted by a friendly crew, who made us all welcome, we had a wonderful tour of the gannet colonies and were up close to many other birds. We also saw a proliferation of seals basking in the sun. The commentary was intelligent and authoritative. We were treated to a... More

This trip was recommended by our host and was worth every penny (45 GBP per person), also for "non-birdwatchers". The very friendly boat crew takes you from the harbour, along the isle of Bressay to the isle of Noss. Expect to see lots of seabirds and also many seals, different and close views of the cliffs, exploring views of the... More

It has been a wonderful trip, from the moment we got on the boat, we were pampered by the two crew members. They have offered explanations of everything we saw with expertise and clear understanding of the topics treated and what we saw was amazing! At first ride around the island of Bressay, then to the island of Noss, the... More

Birds, seals, plankton close-ups and a stunning location. Overall, this trip was brilliant. The captain was inspiring and a real character. Completely in love with his job and the birds, of which he knows everything. Very jolly atmosphere on the boat, everyone polite enough to let other people take a good look at the various cliffs and gannet colonies, as... More

There isn't a bad thing I can say about it. From the friendly and professional staff, to the amazing trip and the incredibly numerous birds and seals you get to see, everything was perfect. And let's not forget about the exquisite tea and ginger biscuits.

An afternoon aboard on a search for sealife . Lovely weather, dramatic scenery and lots to see. Thrilling to be so close to otters, seals and nesting gannets. An experience not to be missed .

This tour gives you a glimpse of the amazing sea life just outside Lerwick. The gannets alone, amassed on enormous cliffs, are worth the trip. There were plenty of other sightings, along with an explanation of why the wildlife of those waters abounds, including a microscopic view of the plankton.

We were cruising on Princess and instead of booking one of the ship's excursions, I found this wonderful company through TripAdvisor. I sent an inquiry email to the owner, Jonathan Wills, who promptly replied with a confirmation for our date/time (July 6, 2015). He required no pre-payment (cash payment on the day of the trip would do) and told us... More

Our tour guide and captain (I never got his name) made this excursion as terrific as possible. This man combined the knowledge of a marine biologist with 45 years' knowledge of the area. Add a sense of humor and a dash of whimsy and we got the consummate host: intelligent, knowledgeable, patient, helpful. It was a windy & cold June... More
