A fantastic 3 course meal with coffee and mints was a lovely birthday present. The price of the ticket included all day on the trains. We set off on the first train to leave Leicester North and hopped on and off trains. The ticket inspector on one of the trains did make sure we knew which trains to get as... More

I went on the 5 course dining experience last weekend with 5 family members of varying ages for an 80th birthday and I have to say that I was extremely impressed from start to finish. From the beginning staff were attentive with one of them taking another guest and I to the nearest ATM in his car as we hadn't... More

The evening meal in the first class Pullman carriage was a Christmas present and was great way to spend the evening. The ambiance of the carriage was very atmospheric and the evening did feel special. We enjoyed the six course meal and felt very full by the end of the evening. The quality of thd food was outstanding, especially when... More

I loved the activity and sense of adventure! Ironically, I was actually attending a meeting to discuss the electrification of the Midland Mainline service - electrification, diesels and steam - what a combo!

Loughborough Central excellenlly restored. Warm cosy waiting room with real fire for coffee and cake. Interesting little museum. Quorn and Woodhouse station well presented in war time appearance. Rothley still to visit. Good scenery especially across the reservoir.

Enjoyed the outing for an elderly relatives birthday lunch. The fact that they could get on the train and family could eat (an good lunch) and move around them was good and the view changed in front of their eyes! recommended for all travelers - however immobile, they can be accomodated.

Had a lovely 5 course meal aboard the steam train as it travels backwards and forwards to Leicester. Boarded at 6.45pm for a 7pm departure. Drinks reasonable price, service very good and lamb was to die for. Great Novel evening out.

We had booked to have our lunch on a train but, as this was our first experience of such a venture, we were unceratin about what to expect. We were not disappointed. The whole atmosphere in the restautrant car was great with elegantly laid-out tables. The meal itself was superb. The menu is restrictied, due to the lack of space... More
