Me and hubby went for a stroll this afternoon, lovely sunny day so thought haven't been before/heard lots of good things. The actual gardens are lovely and the trees I've never seen some of them variety before. MASSIVE!! :o our daughter would've loved to climb them. Its a relaxing place to go for a wander. The maze was fun, took... More

The gardens were beautiful with a lot of rare species of plants, especially trees. It takes time to discover the whole estate but it worths it. There's also a small labyrinth but despite the size you can really get confused. All in all it was fun. (We were in the gardens only so I can't comment the hall)

My partner and I visited somerleyton hall yesterday. The gardens are beautiful to wander around and the maze was good fun. We went on the house tour- thoroughly enjoyed the rooms we visited although felt it would have been nice if it had included a few more rooms- maybe some bedrooms etc. The tour guides were very enthusiastic and informative.... House and gardens are lovely - Tour guides are friendly and interesting - Shame that the gardens are not at their best at this time of the year - They need to open more rooms to the public, nothing was open upstairs. Cafe very expensive. Pleasant day.

We had a really pleasant day at the beautiful Somerleyton Hall but be aware of the hype and the reality. Looking at the aerial photo of the hall on the website you may be excited by the house visit. However the guided tour (only option - not indicated on the site) is in reality four rooms, a corridor, a hallway... More

We were there just over 3 hours and enjoyed it grounds were okay but the highlight was the tour of the house which lasted about 45 minutes. The tour guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic and brought the tour alive. The grounds aren't that large but were fine, may not be much for younger children to keep them occupied. Really glad... Compared to other houses I have been too this one was average. I have historical house membership and I have been to many houses to compare this too Negatives Nothing to offer children except the maze which they enjoyed Guided tours only round house. We didn't bother as with young children we want to go at our own pace a... More

The gardens are great for young and old alike. Lots of places to explore and plants to admire. I took my 7 and 3 year old, they had fun in the gardens although my little one was very focused on finding some kind of play area. There is or will be one but it was closed off on the day... More
