I loved it here. The gardens and the building are beautiful. Defiantly take a camera! Lots of different passage ways and a maze - so ideal for young children. We chose not to tour the house but I wished we had because it looked so beautiful from the outside. There is also a tea room which looked nice. Would love... More

Beautiful gardens, a lovely house, delicious steak & ale pie, divine afternoon tea and cake. Very enjoyable afternoon.

This is a very strange place. Open to the public, but not welcoming the public. I think it must be the death duties! Only a few rooms open, feet have to be covered up, and bossed about by volunteers who are up their own backsides. Will not be returning, was also expensive for what it was! We much prefer Blickling... More

Make sure you check the opening days and times! We turned up on a Saturday, and were a bit surprised to find it's closed on that day! I know we should have done our homework, but it's a bit unusual. Still, we returned on the Sunday, and I'm glad we did. The gardens are very pleasant (although they might be... More

Gardens have not been maintained very well the hall isn't much better neither. Expensive to get in considering what there is to do. There is as maize but once again nothing special.

Me and hubby went for a stroll this afternoon, lovely sunny day so thought haven't been before/heard lots of good things. The actual gardens are lovely and the trees I've never seen some of them variety before. MASSIVE!! :o our daughter would've loved to climb them. Its a relaxing place to go for a wander. The gardens were beautiful with a lot of rare species of plants, especially trees. It takes time to discover the whole estate but it worths it. There's also a small labyrinth but despite the size you can really get confused. All in all it was fun. (We were in the gardens only so I can't comment the hall)

My partner and I visited somerleyton hall yesterday. The gardens are beautiful to wander around and the maze was good fun. We went on the house tour- thoroughly enjoyed the rooms we visited although felt it would have been nice if it had included a few more rooms- maybe some bedrooms etc. The tour guides were very enthusiastic and informative.... House and gardens are lovely - Tour guides are friendly and interesting - Shame that the gardens are not at their best at this time of the year - They need to open more rooms to the public, nothing was open upstairs. Cafe very expensive. Pleasant day.
