Took kids to the easter egg hunt they loved it running around the grounds and the maze. My daughter was convinced the real easter bunny was there and was so exited to get her egg once she had got all the stamps. Went into the cafe after and paid a lot of money for a few refreshment and snacks, that... More

Somerleyton is a jewel in our local area and yet not that many people have visited. Lovely in the Summer with the kids on a Weekend.

The event was held at Somerleyton Hall last weekend. There were some positives... * Santa's grotto was well decorated * Professional photographer was great * Easy parking * Some staff friendly * Mulled wine on arrival was good Unfortunately there are too many negatives to mention but there are two that are the main ones. * Lack of Christmas atmosphere.... What a dreadful event this was. Very poorly organised and not good value for money. The hot chocolate on arrival was as cold as the mince pies. There wasn't a Christmas feel about this event or venue. There were approximately 8 - 10 stalls and 2 in a small area from the local school. Access for prams and wheelchair users... More

Very disappointing. The potential was there for a lovely event, however it felt like it had been thrown together at the last minute. We struggled with the pushchair due to steps and mud, Father Christmas visit was underwhelming, hot chocolate was cold, and the snow machine coughed out a few dribbles of foam. We've been to better community fetes. Such... More

What a poor show for a Christmas event, no Christmas tree or lights. No Christmas feel no one dressed festive. Mulled wine on arrival but nothing for anyone driving as hot chocolate only for children, cold mince pie was the best thing about this event. Local school gifts on 2 tables in barn poor choice. Local brass band playing in... More

Went to the Cristmas Cracker with my other half, daughter and two grandsons. What a disappointment. The reason we attended was that we were expecting a lovely Christmas fair. I think they forgot the christmas bit as there was nothing much that resembled christmas . Craft tent with only 11 stalls. From their description there should have been more. £5.00... More

We were so disappointed with the whole thing, we didn't even get a free mince pie, it only had a few local stalls and it didn't have a feeling of Xmas about it at all. I thought a house and land as grand as it is could do better. The ladies toilets were terrible too. Will not be going again... More

After reading the reviews of day one, was very worried about going to day two. Wasn't as bad as I was worried it was going to be. Majority was outside so needed to wrap up and wear wellies as very muddy. Food on offer was very limited and quite expensive for what it was and places to sit and eat... More

I was really looking forward to this first Christmas Cracker over this weekend, but unfortunately it was more of a damp squib!. Cost for adults £5 includes mincepie and mulled wine. The whole organisation of it was very amateurish in many ways. We only stayed 1 hour and 15 mins and that included having a cuppa, Needs Christmas music/lights too.... More
