A small but very interesting museum. Eddie, the curator was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Well worth a visit - and you can make an afternoon of it by having coffee and cakes at the Sparrows Nest.

Spent about 90 minutes in this museum. It isn't massive, but the whole experience is very imersive and you can tell everything there is put together with real love and care. Everything on display is either absolutely the genuine article or good enough to convince me it was. Really fascinating video's and exhibits of a time that is now gone.... More

I took a friend to look round this wonderful little museum as an introduction to Lowestoft past and present. In fact I try to take all visitors, friends and family because there is something to interest all ages. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there are several places to walk and eat nearby.

This is a great place to learn about the history of the town. It is manned entirely by volunteers who are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. easy parking on the road outside and inexpensive to get in. Highly recommended.

Located near the sea front, south of the harbour. A small museum that holds alot of interesting items, mainly to do with shipping, but not all. The staff were Volunteers and were very helpful, informative and friendly. We went around the museum in about 1 1/2 hours. Each item had a story to tell. Not expensive, and well worth a... More

My girlfriend and were staying in Norwich for a short break and, as usual, we had identified museums, historic sites, etc to visit. I said we will just pop into the Lowestoft and East Suffolk Maritime Museum for a quick look. WRONG! We were welcomed by two friendly and informative volunteers and had a marvelous afternoon. It is small but... More

Variety and plenty to see there and about. We enjoy a visit to the seafront, visiting The Maritime Museum - lots of local maritime history and even interesting bookshops in the Shopping Centre.
