This place is always a delight and feels like a tardis as the small frontage gives way to a whole host of displays. The staff go out of their way to help you, even drying out our soaked coats on one occasion.

The displays were immaculate, easy explanations. Any one who is interested in maritime history should visit. There is a great welcome from the volunteers. The small entrance fee is well within anyone's budget. So glad we went

Interesting displays, knowledgeable and passionate staff. Lots of things to see and do: puzzles, poetry, videos and knot-tying. Our three year old loved it. It is £2 for an adult ticket and there's a reasonably priced shop which is perfect for pocket money!

This excellent museum depicts a history and "Way of Life" that has virtually become extinct locally. The museum displays artefacts, models and old photographs of fishing fleets, ships, and the local Characters of Olde Lowestoft. The World's first ever Lifeboat - 'The Francis Anne' - operated off the beach at this site. The museum is situated below the sandy cliffs... More

Looking from the outside it does not look that interesting, but once inside the story starts to unfold past and present. the paintings ,models and medals tell the history of mans ventures on the high seas, from fishing locally to deep sea, merchant shipping and the modern oil supply boats and models of the oil and gas rigs. This wonderful... More

This little museum is packed with local history, photographs, pictures and artefacts. There is live communication from the harbour office, a ship's bridge reconstruction, video footage and many hands on models for children to try.
