Description: A walking safari set in 100 acres! Explore the sights and sounds of Africa...
A walking safari set in 100 acres! Explore the sights and sounds of Africa and discover lions, giraffes, rhinos, cheetahs, cape hunting dogs and many more animals and birds from the African continent. Visit the "Plans of Africa" to see giraffe, antelope, zebra, rhino and ostrich roam freely together as they would in the wild. For the under 12's there is an amazing innovative indoor adventure play area aptly named 'The Wild Zone' Watch and listen to our daily feeding, seasonal Bird of Prey displays and climb aboard the safari roadtrain for a free journey around the Park. Look, learn and play in our fun-packed Discovery Centre and meet some of our smaller residents at the animal encounter sessions. The park offers a great outdoor adventure play area, as well as restaurants, snack shacks, free car parking, disabled facilities and a gift shop where you can find presents and gifts for everyone including yourself.

Spent the afternoon here with my partner. We had a lovely day. Park was clean and spacious, with reasonably priced food areas and interesting shows/talks/feeds. The Lion enclosure was the highlight, absolute must see! Very impressed with their animal conservation/breeding success.

Spacious well kept grounds, except for when we saw a member of staff dump their pepsi cup under a bush! Loads of parking, animals all looked happy and well cared for, some interesting displays from the keepers during the day. Cost of food and drink is a bit steep but you expect that in these attractions. Play areas for smaller... More

This was well worth the money for a whole day out. The whole family enjoyed the visit. There were also special talks throughout the day and a challenge for children to complete to get a medal.

A brilliant way to end the kids holiday. Both of my little girls loved their day out seeing all the animals. Affordable and good value for money for a day out for all the family.

This zoo was very good, you have very close contact to the animals, it was the nearest I have ever been to the lions and you can get very good photos.you get to see the animals being fed and the keepers give very good talks. There was a excellent bird display and you get to see Zulus dancing and singing.The... More

Fairly expensive but worth it. We had a great day out with 4 under 5s. Lots to see, beautifully laid out enclosures with lots of animals in easy view and all looking healthy and content. Zulu dancing and singing was a bonus extra! Good play area including inside play for showery days and the teas and ice creams were sensibly... More

Was a little shocked at the entry fee when we arrived, but we had a great day. The site is pretty big with a wide selection of wildlife. Great if you don't mind a bit of walking. The staff were all cheerful and helpful. The feeding time talks were good, especially the lions. My daughter was even able to feed... More

Don't bother even going because they only have 8 meerkats last I went. I don't really like the enclosures. They don't offer much. I'd rather go to the play park than Africa Alive. Even Colchester Zoo, Abberton Resevoir and even Asda and I don't even like Asda. I hope this has helped!

Hi, Brandon, Thank you for posting a review here, on Trip Advisor. Being extremely candid, I am unsure how comparing a charitable wildlife park to a visit to a supermarket is justified. Africa Alive! has over 80 species of animal comprising of nearly 600 individual mammals, birds and reptiles and over 1,000 invertebrates. From the white rhino, Chapman's zebra, cape... More

We had a great day at Africa Alive. Plenty to see and the children enjoyed collecting all the stamps so they could get their medal at the end. The highlight was when the giraffes were fed, it happened right in front of us and it made my day to be able to be so close to them. We used Tesco... More
