Commentary on individual hand held guides is excellent - not too long. Allow around an hour and a half for your visit. Not many places to shelter so best visited when dry!

This is a lovely castle to visit, especially on a sunny day. Although it is one of the smaller castles, it adds to it's charm and elegance. The surrounding views are awesome and peaceful. There aren't many benches etc..inside the castle for a picnic but you can spread a picnic blanket and enjoy lunch on the grass by the once... More

An absolutely fantastic castle to visit, its all there, dungeon, moat, drawbridge (WALKWAY), etc. its what they must have based all the toys on. The staff are very helpful, a great few hours of fun and history.

We passed by Goodrich Castle half an hour before last entry and decided to stop and see whether we would be welcome. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. They allowed us to pay for our parking in the ticket office as we did not have any change (It's £1). We were then able to walk up to the castle... More

We visited this awesome castle as part of our explorer scout summer camp. The scouts thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There was plenty to keep them occupied and the voice tours were very informative. We paid full price as we weren't aware of the educational discounts. You can only get this if you pre book. Definitely worth a visit with your group.

Visited with 4 family members as English Heritage had a special weekend event of “Fighting Knights! My first visit-to this picturesque area with great views surrounding the castle. Helpful staff/volunteers at the visitor centre. We made use of the picnic area and tables which was well located (also picnic areas surrounding the castle) . Reasonable number of parking spaces and... More

Goodrich castle can be quite difficult to find so you need to get a decent map to find your way there. The location is quite remote, but there is ample parking. From the car park you have about a 1/4 mile walk along a tarmac path that takes you to the castle grounds. You can run around in the moat... More
